Guest guest
I have what I think are the insulin needles, the small ones, they have yellow on them. They are quite small, I do let the alcohol dry before injecting. --- Mike Ouelette <mikeyo7777@...> wrote: > what size needles do you have? Guest guest
I have found that I cannot inject into my thigh because of pain. Everywhere else, no pain, but I have had to just skip the thigh. Have you tried your arms? I have no pain there at all. <hkg0285@...> wrote: Hi everyone, I don't know if I'm the only one, but Imissed my shot yesterday and today due to it hurtingwhen I tried to inject. Guest guest
Has any one who self injects experienced pain at there injection site for 4+ days? The pain is deep in the muscle; it feels like a knot or sorta like I was punched there with every step. Gettin Older
Guest guest
There has been times when I hit a nerve and it was sore for a while. Also, the size of the dosage can make a difference as well a the size of the needle used. I don't think 4 days is anything to be alarmed at. You may have also knicked a vessel the caused a small clot. Should correct itself within a week. Guest guest
I used to experience very bad pain when I first starting giving myself injections, as well. Those were in the days when I used the large-gauge needles provided by the doctor...22 or 23 gauge. When I switched to smaller needles at 30 or 31 gauge (and short in length -- 5/16 " ), that helped a LOT. But still, every now and again, I'd still get the deep, muscular pains you described, and sometimes it was accompanied by a round, reddish area. I have been concerned that somehow I might have given myself an infection, but the reddish areas always cleared up after a few days.  I continued to experiment and found a new area I've been using lately, which for me has been 100% pain-free (except for the pinprick at time of injection). This location is the back of the buttocks area, just where the gluteus meets up with the upper thigh. The only problem with getting shots in this spot is that it's nearly impossible to do yourself. It's better to have a spouse or " trusted friend " give you the injection. That having been said, I've been doing this method for a year and have never had a single bit of pain from an injection. --Davy

I draw using the 23g 1.5 " on the syringe (big hole it draws fast), then switch to the new/sharp/smaller needle for the actual injection. when I can find it I'm using a 450mg/ml " supertest " 'cause it cuts injection volumn to .3ml but I haven't seen that lately (kinda like hcg it's getting harder to get and more expensive). Guest guest
I had that a lot at first too. I also started using a 22 or 23 guage needle to load the syringe and a 25 guage 5/8 to inject with. I've also found that diluting the test with 10% ethyl oleate helps in 2 ways. It thins the oil so it injects easier, and it has mild anesthetic properties. No more injection pain. > > > > > I used to experience very bad pain when I first starting giving > myself injections, as well. Those were in the days when I used the > large-gauge needles provided by the doctor...22 or 23 gauge. > > Hi, > > Yea I've switched to a 25g*1 " myself... Guest guest
I inject with 27 g 1/2 inch and draw with 18 G 1 inch. I can draw with the 27 but it takes longer. I only had real pain when trying to inject on the side of my thigh; occasionally the pain was so server and immediately that I pulled the needle quickly out but the pain would remain for upwards of two weeks. Now I only inject on the top of my thigh where sometimes I cannot even feel the needle at all. Steve Mike Lawson wrote: > I had that a lot at first too. Guest guest
Thinning the oil may also increase the speed of absorption. I'd be careful. Have you talked to your doc about that? Guest guest
I thought that it was the characteristics of the ester attached to the testosterone that controlled the half life. I'll be sure to ask. > > > > > > I had that a lot at first too. I also started using a 22 or 23 guage > > needle to load the syringe and a 25 guage 5/8 to inject with. Guest guest
I don't really know, that's why I suggest you ask your doc. Let us know the results of your conversation. How do you know your 10% ethyl oleate solution is sterile? Gettin Older > > > > > > > > > I had that a lot at first too. Guest guest
My doc is kind of hands off, but I did talk to my pharmacist. Ethyl oleate is an excellent carrier for lipophilic substances and is commonly used as a carrier for progesterone. It is not commonly used for testosterone as it adds expense to an already expensive commodity. I managed to get sterile ethyl oleate from chemical supply company. Now the only place I can find it sells it by the kilogram so I can't really afford to restock. It is pretty much a moot point now. My self injection technique has improved and I hardly ever have injection site pain unless I'm shaky when I inject. I take my thyroid meds first thing in the morning, and have to wait 2 hours before eating. If I wait too long to inject, I get shaky and usually have a sore spot on my leg for a couple days. > > > > > > > > > > > > I had that a lot at first too.
