Guest guest
My Blood counts are as follows (not posting the ones that are " normal " ) RBC 3.44 3.8-4.8 tera/L is normal Hemoglobin 103 120-150 g/L is normal Hematocrit 0.30 0.35-0.43 Folate, WBC, normal. B12 796 150-650 pmol/L is normal --- anemia can also be caused by low B12 but my B12 is above normal. Above normal B12 can be caused by liver cirosis (which I don't have, my liver tests are normal). I have Stage 4 Breast Cancer. I don't have any abnormal bleeding. Does anyone know if I should be concerned and try and raise the blood count or is this normal for cancer? I've been googling this and can't find any references other than to take iron pills, which I am not going to do. If you do have suggestions, can you please include references? I've not been much of a meat eater my whole life and the above blood counts could have always been normal for me...but I've not ever had them checked before I had cancer. I was also slightly anemic in October/08 and was stage 2 breast cancer then. Louise
