Guest guest
Hi All, I am 25 year old. I was diagnosed with Hypogonadotropic Hypogonadism at the age of 18 after no signs of puberty through my teen years. My doctor put me on TRT which helped me grow facial hair, get a bit of muscle mass and made my testis a little bit bigger (from 3ml each to 7ml after 2-3 years on TRT) but I still feel that I didn't complete puberty. Between 22-24 years of my age, I got so sick of taking injections every other week that I completely stopped the TRT (which I know now was a foolish thing to do). I got all my lab tests done again 6 months ago and restarted on TRT. My lab results before going on TRT were: TSH: 2.2uIU/mL (range: 0.2 - 5.5) FSH: 1.4mIU/mL (range: 1.4 - 18.1) LH: 1.2mIU/mL (range: 1.0 - 12.0) Free T: 4.8pg/mL (range: 35.0 - 155.0 ) Total T: 40ng/dL (range: 250 - 1100) My height is 5'10 " and I weigh 145 lbs. I recently joined this group and thanks to all of you I have been getting lot of insights about this condition. I have few questions for the folks on this forum. 1. I would like to know if taking Growth Hormone will help me at this age to gain puberty. Will any doctor in CA prescribe me that? 2. I have also been reading a lot about HCG which supplements LH in the body and helps regain testicular function to some extend. What should be the correct route for me to take? 3. Doctors? I am in Bay area, California. My doctor doesn't seem to know about this condition much. He didn't even bother to educate me or tell me the benefits of HCG. The only solution according to him was to be on TRT. If you know a good Endocrinologist in Bay area, please do let me know. Thanks a lot for all the good advice, - LK.
