Guest guest
Question: I've heard some guys mention putting a very small amount of Testosterone cream or gel directly on the genitals. Is that on the head of the penis, the shaft, or the testicle sack? Also, I think the directions say it should not be placed directly on the genitals. So how come they are doing that? Guest guest
I actually put about a third of my daily dose all over my balls and penis (head and shaft). I don't remember exactly why, and if you search the archives I am sure you'll find the reason, but it basically was that there was a rich amount of a certain receptor in that area and the idea was that the T from the androgel would convert more readily to that receptor's target. I **think** it's DHT that we were shooting for. Re: Andro-Gel Question: I've heard some guys mention putting a very small amount of Testosterone cream or gel directly on the genitals. Guest guest
It does 3 things. 1. Scrotal skin allows up to 5 times more T to be adsorbed than other skin, so you get more T. 2. Scrotal skin converts more of the T to DHT, so you get higher DHT levels - either good, bad or unimportant depending on your particular situation. 3. It burns like your sack is on fire. Rememer Eddie 's Old Spice bit? Not fun. > Re: Andro-Gel > > Question: I've heard some guys mention putting a very small amount of > Testosterone cream or gel directly on the genitals. Guest guest
The creams can be placed in this area and do not cause this stinging problem and they do work for some men, perhaps this is something worth consideration for some people if they are not well on current meds? One such med is called Androcream from Lawley Pharmaceuticals, I guess cream can also be compounded by a Pharmacy. Chris > > It does 3 things. > > 1. Guest guest
Doesn't burn mine...well, once in a while, but usually not. Guest guest
Hi Chis Can this be obtained in the UK? Guest guest
It can be obtained privately in the UK, but it is not in the (BNF) british national formulary- so it will not be prescribed on the NHS. I tried it and it didn't work for me- but then again many treatments have failed for me- doesn't mean to say it wouldn't work for you or others- given it is very much horses for courses. One testosterone injection that looks like it maybe a way around the problem of the poor BNF guidelines (statinhg injections can only be every two to three weeks- a way around that poor protocol) is an injection called virormone. virormone is avilable on the NHS being in the BNF, it is testosterone cyprionate and its protocol is for 50mg injections three times a week. It is something that I am currently looking into. > >> > >> It does 3 things. > >> > >> 1. Guest guest
Your levels can go down on this dose it happens some times your brain sees the T in your blood and slows down sending the LH and FSH messages to your testis to make more T. So if you were say 9 you can end up at what the gel is doing say 5. So we tell men to retest in 2 weeks if the feel good then fall back. Most men are on 7.5 to 10 grams. When you put the gel on take a good shower shave by then your dry you need to only spread the gel over your upper arms and shoulders and down your back on each side but don't rub it in let it dry from wet. I had a lot of pain on Androgel do bad I was house bound turns out for some men the T does not support Joints and Muscles going through the skin and levels don't get high enough. If this dose not get better in 3 months switch to shots starting at 100 mgs a week. This cost a lot less get your Dr. to let you do your own shots. Try to get your T levels up into the upper 1/3 of your labs range and keep your Estradiol down to about 20 pg/ml if you let this get high on TRT it takes away from the good T does for us. Guest guest
I have been on Androgel for about a year and since December the dr increased to 7.5 or 6 pumps was feeling great and morning wood came back, which I hadn't had in years and erections, but now in the last 2 months I have been getting joint pain, I thought this was just ageing ( i am 55) but now I read this and wonder if this is where my pain is coming from. I recently went on vacation and did some hiking and I could hardly finish only a couple of miles. Which I could do alot more last year on the same trip. Any thoughts? > From: richard <lakeerie332000@ .ca> > Subject: andro-gel > > Date: Thursday, July 30, 2009, 12:06 AM > started again after being off since > dec.06--be-cause of the cost--i find out now that the > canadian ohip[public plan]pays for this since 2005--but any > wise i had all kinds of blood work done and the endo. says > they are fine-i told him i wanted my life back he put me on > 5 gm. a day i was on 10 gm before but was not moniterd--my > #s for testosterone were 15.5 i said is that # good for us > old guys and he said it was good for all ages-so our > canadiain #s seam different than in the states-can any one > make the match for me? i feel some what better already > getting semi-wood--cronic pain is real bad but life gets > better when you think and get horny--i use a tens machine on > my back for pain--hope to be able to wean off the > oxycodone the testosterone number was be-fore i > started on the gel again- thanx > > > > ------------ --------- --------- ------ > >
Guest guest
There is just something about gels going through the skin that the Testosterone does not support the joints and muscles. I have 2 small bulging discs in my lower back and some arthritis. On gels the whole time I was on them I got worse to the point when I stood up I could not stand straight up for about the first 10 min.'s of walking. The pain was so bad at times I need pain pills. We thought this was Arthritis until I posted about it here and one of the guys got back to me saying he had the same problems on Androgel. He told me he went back to shots and this took all his pain away in time. I went to shots and felt better on the first shot was doing 100 mgs / wk. In a short time my pain was gone. I am just getting over Heart bypass sugary and the Heart Dr. took me off TRT said it would interfere with sugary boy was he full of it. I crashed big time had one hard time recovering after I got out of the hosp. My joints and muscles were killing my but then I was out cold 17 weeks and lost a lot of muscle. Still going back on TRT I am now just able to walk for exercise 15 min.'s Then pain is much less and getting better. We need Testosterone to keep are joints and muscles healthy. Also you got some wood going back on Androgel what might have happened is your Estradiol levels were to low to your testosterone levels going on the gels your levels come up. If you lose this your estradiol is going to high check this every time you test your T levels do a Quest Labs Estradiol test #4021 the range is 13 to 54 pg/ml you need to be at about 20 for good wood. Guest guest
How long have you been on it if you just started yes it should stop as your body levels off. When we are low on T and add it the body goes nuts trying to figure out why once it gets us to it things go back to normal. Some men just starting on TROT will get sore and hard nipples from the change in the hormone in this case it's not high levels of Estradiol it's just the hormone change on ones body and the way it reacts to this.
