Guest guest
, I have heard about this. What blood type is your child and what did you have to do differently? I suppose I should look up our just to see if there are easy changes to make. We are A+. I am currently also restrictive colorants, additives, chemicals, etc. I am looking into doing the Feingold diet to get a this of these foods. If you are not comfortable taking her off GFCF, then don't do it. In fact, it would be better to start her on the enzymes and just let her get used to them first, and see if there is a reaction to the product itself. Then if you want, add back in one food at a time and see how it goes. . >>We then implemented the blood type diet over and above and saw > even better results. Guest guest
, She is of the blood type O+. Studies have shown that most autistic kids aere of the A and O blood types so I decided to give it a try. I had to eliminate even more foods - eggs, potatoes, certain vegies, fruits, juices, rice and a whole lot more. We went thru another detox, but she has been doing so much better in ABA than ever before. O's are definately gluten and casein intolerant, even corn and soy are no good. Guest guest
Hi Penny, There is a book called " Eat Right For Your Type " - I can't recall the author's name and can't find my copy. He theorizes that people with different blood types require different sorts of diets. The blood type is a throw back to our ancestors. I never tried it as GF/CF was hard enough for me. Guest guest
The authors name is D'Adamo. There are a number of books :- Eat right 4 your type, Cook right 4 your type, live right 4 your type. The diet is not that bad. We eliminated a few things, but not that many(eg, for O's no potato - only sweet potato, no white onions - only red ones etc)Its just a matter of changing to things that are beneficial instead of things that are not doing the body any good. Hope this helps. The website is www.dadamo.com Should you need any more info, please feel free to drop me a mail. Guest guest
In Dr D'Adamos book, he expains how each blood type is intolerant to certain foods and which are beneficial. He gives a table of foods which are avoids, neutral(can have but not avoids) and highly beneficial foods. My daughter has done very well on the diet. I joined one of the other lists - , but found that no-one on the list was " treating " Autism with it. It just made common sense to me after reading the book - another intervetion I had to try! Guest guest
I've heard about the blood type diet, but mostly for weight loss. I wouldn't mind trying this and have slightly adjusted the diet for my boys following their persciptions, but are you using the book that was written for weight loss or is there another book discussing this diet and learning/behavior problems? Thanks much. ( & Malachi's mom)
Guest guest
, I went to join the ER4YT as an A but there were a couple groups for each blood type. Do you know why there are two? My husband in O so I wanted to look into that as well. I could not determine if there was a different focus or not. Guest guest
Yes, most people use it for weight problems, however al lot of people use it for food intolerances as well as allergies - that is why I tried it. Nothing has been scientifically proven with Autism, in fact it seems like I am a first when it comes to this! I am not saying that it is a " cure " , but it has helped my daughter a great deal - over and above the gfcf that is. Wish there was a list to find out more about the diet and Autism, but I joined the list and there was only people wanting to loose weight on the list (pitty) sigh! I'm just letting you know of another diet that may help. (SA) --- maccabeus@... wrote: > I've heard about the blood type diet, but mostly for > weight loss. Guest guest
, Yes there is a different list for each blood type - not much info from a autism point of view, but for yourself there is plenty of info. I found the info very useful, but i am getting about 400 mails a day, so decided to concentrate just on autism and so I decided to unsubscribe to the blood type list. Hope this helps. Guest guest
I also read the book Eat Right for Your Type, a while back, as it helped a friend of mine decrease her fatigue. Whether it works or not, I do not know. Perhaps it helps some. However, one of the basic premises of this book was that blood types were directly correlated with human evolution. That is, type O persons were more " evolved " than B type, etc. O type people can eat more meat/protein, versus B or A type vegetable eaters, following the " evolved " human diet. Again, not to say it does or doesn't work, but it is helpful to know the author's perspective/discernment. Janet

A single drop of blood contains a biochemical make up as unique as your fingerprint. Your blood type is a key to unlocking the secrets to your biochemical individuality. Foods and supplements contain lectins that interact with your cells depending on your blood type. This explains why some nutrients which are beneficial to one blood type, may be harmful to the cells of another. _____________________________________ Hi Lottie, I can hardly believe you writing about the blood type diet. I just told Lottie off list that I have followed this diet for blood type A for over 10 years! and she told me she did not think that she could be that disciplined. For me it was easy and a no-brainer because when I went on the diet I felt better than I had probably ever felt in just 2 or 3 weeks. Blood type A ancestors settled in the fertile valleys and their diet became grains, fruits and vegetables.....with a little poultry and fish. NO red meat. The blood type A person has less hydrocholic acid in their stomach secretions (this is a known fact) and cannot digest meat protein.....and gives that feeling of feeling heavy or sluggish after a meal with meat. Also, those antigens in the blood are also in all body secretions (like saliva, mucous, etc) in 85% of people, who are called secretors. This is why I think some people have such a hard time with a BMT where they are changing blood type.....that type (antigens) are not just in the blood, it bathes all cells. The science is very interesting. As for the books, if you are intrigued, I would pick up the first book Eat Right 4 Your Type at the library or a used book store, then move on to Live Right 4 Your Type, which is the diet at a more refined level plus other material. There is a new book, The Genotype Diet, but when I took a Dr. d'Adamo test on line, it said, because of my cml and side effects, I would do better with the basic blood type diet....but the Genotype diet book is some fascinating reading. So, Lottie, I guess you did a little on line reading and also got a bit intrigued? Dr. d'Adamo (and his father before him who started the research in his clinic) are naturopaths.....and naturopaths really spend 4 years of medical school studying the biochemistry of the body, this is their specialty. Westen medicine doctors get a crash course of a couple lectures on nutrition! Guest guest
Dear Cmlers, If one gets the chance and one does not know their blood type, there is a kit for $10.00 you can buy from the rear of the Blood Type Book. It is well worth reading, and since Dr. D'Adamo, has written it some 16 years ago, most of the Medical Physicians who read it, wrote books of their own regarding our diets. If one makes a visit to any of the USA book stores Borders or Barne & Nobles or even Amazon.com, you will find a phlorea of health diet books and ways to conquer and consume a better diet. I read this book 16 years ago, and found it fascinating, at first I thought this book was a gimmick, however, I was suffering at that time with weight gain on all white flour products. Not only did I have severe inflammation, but I was gaining weight without really consuming much except bread. Medical Physicians didn't have a clue about Celiac Sprue, nor did they understand about gluten sensitivities. I was the one who actually Educated my Allergist to look or have a rast test provided for kids and adults on what gives us allergies, besides the pollens, and the environment factors. Dr. D'Adamo, N.D. has recently published another new book in the market place called: Geneotyping. Many friends said the book is fascinating too, and help them understand how much better to feed and supplement their children as well. Many of our health diseases are stated as hereditary, well, if we all knew what makes us sick as we consumed our foods, we would realize it is the negative foods, and other staples which make us sick, or makes our bodies digest things differently. If anyone enjoys reading great books this one is of great importance! Buy it, borrow it, or buy it used on Amazon.com. Hope everyone gets a copy of this fabulous book and re-educate ones self about what is making us sick in our diets. Blessings to everyone!
