Guest guest
I am seeing Dr. Landa who is part of the BodyLogicMD network as referred to in Suzanne Somers books. I am tough on doctors, but Dr. Landa who practices near Orlando, FL (Maitland) is great. She ran a series of tests to include a cortisol saliva from ZRT Labs. The result came back as adrenal exhaustion, which now explains alot since my T:E2 is in acceptable levels and ratios 790:26. Although I sense the E2 can still come down a bit. While I noticed the strength coming on I also noticed no real relief from sweats that have for years seemed more associated with anxiety than exertion and I still had days where I have to go back to bed to get through the day. However, there are good days, just not enough of them. My strength in the gym is obscene, although I am having to retool my natural inclination to want to push the envelope with max weights and revert to sets with lower weights and high reps since the adrenals need a break. The Cortisol saliva test nailed it. I am starting an adrenal replenishment program, which I understand may take 6 months - 2 years. Also, and I have not sorted this out yet because of another issue that I will create a separate post on, but my kidneys have been hurting for weeks to the point of sitting me down. When you take T it puts a demand on the adrenals to perform, which mine are spent. So we are going to keep the T just under 800 and get the adrenals back in the game. I want to emphasize that if you are having lower back or what you think may be kindney issues get a cortisol saliva test ordered and consider both the kidneys and adrenals as possible sources. There is information on the hypothalamus, pituitary and gonad axis (HPGA). It makes me wonder who many of us who ran hard and participated in athletics are experiencing adrenal burnout.
