its likely that you are describing stones in your liver/gb

i had mri and ultrasound done that didnt show stones

but i passed over a half gallon so far some as large as eggs

whether you start the debate or not won't change the trith of the matter. if

you continue flushing you will likely see some large stones and your

symptoms will slowly get better.

You have passed a half gallon of stones? While I really appreciate

your advice and response, and wish to continue the dialogue, I have

doubts that that many stones could actually fit in your body. If

they are all stones, would that maybe be a message that maybe your

gb should come out?

Do you ever doubts? Where I start to lose my faith is when I see

mentioning that it cures AIDS, or when people mention that

depending on what type of person you are: earth, wind fire, etc.. I

guess htat is when I wonder how based in reality this all is.

I have a healthy degree of skeptism for modern medicine, but I do

for alternative too at times. And while I know the western medicine

is entrenched with pharmaceutical companies, I would think someone,

some grad student or something, would have done research on this to

provie it one way or the other. I have a hard time believing the

entire field would push surgery if an alternative exists. Then

again, my sister teaches natural childbirth, and I know how messed

up that industry is. I am really just confused as hell.

My doc is clearly not helping me though, and I am thinking of trying

accupunture. And I may do the flush again just to be sure. I have

been thinking of adding food color to the oil, like purple or

something to see if the stones I pass are that color, do you think

the coloring could cause a problem?

Thanks for the response. I am not so worried about the reflux

anymore, the attacks are 100 times worse than anything I used to go

through, and now that I have changed my diet the heartburn is down

about 80%. I still smoke though, and I know that is no good for the

digestion too.

I am just a little skeptical of the whole flush. I am trying to get

a handle on it. I have a chiropractor and nutritionist telling me

that it works and a gastroenterologist telling me its hooey. Plus

you have Dr. Weil saying its hooey, and he is one that you can

usually count on for alternative opinions.

I have such a hard time grasping how so many intelligent and

experienced people could have differing opinions on such a simple

thing. It either works or it doesnt. Stones are either produced in

liver or not, if they are I would think over the years with all the

autopsies, it wouldnt be hard to establish this. Every time you cut

into a liver it would be full with stones, at least some, by the

account of . That would be undeniable in western medicine if

it were true.

I don't know, I am just sick of the pain and the fear of an

impending attack all the time.

Thanks, for the advice.

To all the responses I have gotten, thanks for taking the time. I

have few to talk to about this, and I know my girlfriend is getting

sick of hearing me wonder this and that (although she is very anxious

for me to get well).

Anyhow, I will probably do the flush again this weekend. I had about

a 2 week period after the first one where I didnt have an attack, and

now about once a week, sometimes twice. I'm glad to hear all of you

are such strong supporters, and am a ittle disturbed by the response

one of you got from the doctor that you may get more stones stuck

even after the gb is removed. That seems to put you back at square

one, which stinks! While it makes some sense, it is mind boggling,

cause what then, even from an operation first type doctor. They

can't remove the duct, you would die. Its also so puzzling, but i

guess that is nature. We can't figure anything out completely.

I ahve seen many different suggestions for folks once an attack

happens, but have you folks discovered any sure fire ways to ease an

attack. Currently I drink some tea, relax, pace when i am drowning

in pain, and just wait. The warm shower doesnt seem to help me.

My nutritionist suggested downing more of these pills that i

currently take, beta something. i think they are to help with bile

salts or liver function or something, but nothing seems to do the

trick. I dont have any pain meds, but i know that is just a mask

anyway.

Thanks for all the advice,

A trick--that used to work for me when my stones were tiny (2 years

ago)--is to try to use gravity to get the stone unstuck during a

gallstone attack. So, I'd put my legs up on the wall, my head on the

ground, and lift my body up (or you can just lie on your bed and drop

your upper body off the bed, so your body hangs down). A kidney

doctor had told me this trick regarding kidney stone attacks.

However, now my stones are small and this trick doesn't work for me

any more.

Also, I posted a few days ago a message about an anti-spasmodic

Bentyl. It's NOT a pain killer, so it will not mask the pain. It just

relaxes your muscles in the duct/gallbladder and makes it easier for

the stones to pass. I found it to be a life saver. That's the only

medicine so far that had actually stopped an attack for me. It also

relieves my gallbladder pain after eating.

A friend of mine had the same experience as you--typical gallbladder

pain, but nothing showed up on the ultrasound for a while. After a

couple of months of pain, she had another ultrasound and they finally

saw sludge in the gallbladder. Maybe you have sludge too.

Alan,

I don't have kidney stones anymore. They disapeared after nursing my

son for 18 months!? I have no idea why, maybe something to do with

the need for calcium for production of milk.
