Guest guest
My issue was identical to yours, at least what you describe. I began when I was 24 and my total T level was only 90....not very fun. Facial hair patterns, and body hair in general, is very individual. Don't get hung up on how much beard you can grow, etc., because it likely won't have anything to do with the fact that you got your proper T level late in life. As far as penis and testicles are concerned, my testicles never did grow larger. Can't say my penis really did either, but I think it did get a bit thicker because I remember thinking that at some point, and I hadn't even thought about the possibility anything would grow bigger because I didn't think my penis was on the small side anyway (I didn't know it then, but I know now that it was/is bigger than average). For me, voice became noticeably deeper fairly quick....then more leg hair and hair in general, the hair on my head became bit thicker too....the person who cuts my hair even commented on it and she had no idea why it was that way. Then developed chest/stomach hair and facial was really last. I'm still getting new whiskers slowly, but steadily. Best, Derick From: arh1387 <Hibschmana1@...> Subject: Testosterone Therapy effects on post-puberty male Date: Saturday, February 28, 2009, 9:12 AM Just wondering if anyone knows about the effects of Testosterone therapy on a post-puberty male. I'm 21 years old, and a little over 6 feet. I've been on testosterone therapy for just shy of a year for hypogonadism. During puberty, I didn't develop facial hair, body hair aside from underarm, leg, and pubic region, and my penis and testicles did not increase in the size they are when flaccid. Now, my facial hair is almost grown in, but not around the " goatee " area, and body hair is beginning to grow in on my chest, but the flaccid size of my penis and the size of my testicles have not increased. Does anyone know if, with continued therapy, " goatee " area facial hair will grow in, and if I should expect the size of my penis/testicles to increase? Personal experience, opinions, facts. Anything would be helpful. Thanks a lot!
Guest guest
This is not from personal experience but from what I've read in medical books and from other posts. Testicle size will decrease to size of small grapes if on TRT without hCG because your body's natural (endogeneous) production stops (pituitary hormones LH & FSH stop sending signals to Leydig cells in testicals to produce T and sperm production stops (sertoli cells in testicles - its these cells that make up about 90-95% of mass). Of course it all depends on how big your testciles were in the first place if your are going to notice much change in size. If small to begin with then more likely your are primary hypo. Penis size is very unlikely to change in size although some people (few) on this board and other boards have reported some increase in girth with marginal increase in size. The likelihood of this happening for you will depend on many factors...main ones being 1) your levels of T - would need to be sufficiently high for few months anyway - DHT cream (more potent androgen than testosterone) has been used in medicine to increase penis size in boys on very rare occasions i.e. micropenis in new borns/boys 2)your age - the younger you are then much greater chance of success because amounts of androgen receptors fall dramatically after puberty 3) your CAG repeat length - This is because androgens bind more strongly to an androgen receptor with short CAG sequences than to androgen receptors with longer CAG repeats. A particularly large number of CAG repeats (>38) is associated with mild androgen resistance. Its maybe noteworthy that few people on this and other boards who claim an increase in penis size are primary hypo (not secondary - associated more with age related decline of T) and XXY (klinefelter) in particular...small testicles with low T, high LH & FSH are most obvious features of this - possible this may be cause of your low T As far as facial hair...most younger guys on TRT say this takes some time to grow in (months at least but years for sizeable changes) with slow but gradual improvement i.e. fuller beard/hair growth over time Hope this helps somewhat - maybe others on here will be able to share personal experiences with you Do you know the cause of your low T? Did you approach doctor about this or did he run hormone tests for some other reason? Anything would be helpful. > > Thanks a lot! > Hi, I also had a similar experience, though I wasn't diagnosed til I was 37. One thing that I would have done differently if I had it to do over again was not worry so much about the body hair issue & actually enjoy the lack of it a bit more. Body hair also leads (quickly) to body odor - which if you're not used to it - can be a pain. Also, while it may not seem too cool now, in a few years, you'll be happy that you have a face that looks younger than most. As for your genitals, they won't ever change in size. The size thing happens in puberty, when there's lots of human growth hormone in your body.. and that never happens again in your lifetime. Taking it artificially doesn't even achieve it. So, relaz about that - you are the way you are. Having said that, you may find that actually your balls shrink just a bit after a few years of T - this is a natural reaction. Balls get bigger trying to pump out T - when your body doesn't have to do it for itself (because you're getting it from the pharmacy) then it stops altogether, and your balls shrink as a result. At the end of the day, it may seem harsh - but I'd honestly say, just don't worry about it. If, instead, you focus your energy on having great technique in bed, no one is going to care how big or small you are. That takes lots of practice - and the only thing to say about that is that it's best ALWAYS to be coy about how much practice you've had. Find yourself an older lover - say by at least 20 years - and get them to teach you everything they know. Be interested & above all, attentive to THEIR needs, and talk about what you're doing with them and ESPECIALLY why. And whatever you do, Be safe - educate yourself about sexual diseases - don't leave that education to anyone else, ever. And educate yourself BEFORE you get something, not afterwards. An ounce of prevention is worth a zillion pounds of cure when it comes to sexual diseases (especially since several have no cures). Guest guest
" As for your genitals, they won't ever change in size. The size thing happens in puberty, when there's lots of human growth hormone in your body.. and that never happens again in your lifetime. " Is this statement really accurate? Others on this board and meso forum have reported small increase in girth with very marginal increase in length. This is uncommon and not reported very often but point is (unless few others are lying) it can happen particularly in younger people who may never have experienced high T levels in their lifetime (may have effect on androgen receptor numbers I don't know). > > > > Just wondering if anyone knows about the effects of Testosterone > > therapy on a post-puberty male.
