Guest guest
what hospital was this and was it NHS as i had to see endo who is into diabetes as his main field and he was appalling and asked me none of the queastions you had asked and was in and out with incorrect info in 9 minutes my last results were total t 7.4 sbhg 19 lh 1 fsh 3 total tan ?? whats that? i am more amazed your doc took you serious on reuslts higher than mine, mine did not take meseroius at all and as said endo was more than useless as well My day at the endocrinology department.(english hospital) After a life time of erection probelms and low libido i was diagnosed (in nornmal range but very low, im 28 by the way)with low testosterone and have been on androgel patches for the past 9 months (perscribed by local doctor) and seen some improvment, some morning erections and the new feeling of lust(being horney)and a satisfacory erection with viagra to have sex (still not great though but a step in the right direction)and more general energy. Now the local doctor refered me to the endocrinology department as he said this was really out side his expertise and i thought great this is heading in the right direction... ...well after a 2 month wait i had my first meeting and found out that they didnt even have access to my original blood tests and then went through all my details, where i work, what a eat drink etc.......snooze. ........ anyway they have stopped my androgel patches as they need to retest my blood at its original levels and possibly do a brain scan........ i have another 2 month wait till before im tested and now have to survive through christmas and new year, this will sure put a strain on my relationship! !! Thanks for listening any way and feel free to post your thoughts as i could really do with some more info, here were my original blood test before the patches which i got off the GP, although i still have to have them tested again.=( shbg 18.6 test 13.1 free tan 70.4 fsh 1.0 Lh 2.0 Send instant messages to your online friends http://uk.messenger. Guest guest
Hey Youngman_trust I am 33 and was put on Testosterone at your age and went through the same problems you are having. If I were you I would try to get those tests because I came off of it the same as your doctor is doing to you and I crashed big time. I finally did some research online and found a local Dr. that specializes in HRT for men. He looked at my labs and said they were crazy to think that I didn't need to be on it. The endo pulled me off to see what my baseline was and it killed me I felt worse than I ever had. He put me through two years of this before I did my own research and found my current doc. I think it will pay in your case to reasearch for another doc. Guest guest
i see i had not read the last couple of sentences on that mail from youngman another 2 months is not too bad,my endo was hgoing ot make me wait 4 months to see again and as said he did not aske any questions and doubted my hypo secondary and also and it seems at least he may take it seriously[well hope so] when he sees similar ereuslts again to those you had before. as for suggestions in finding doctors ,in UK we are not allowed to do that, well we can perhaps find someone but if our own doc does not wish to refer us we are stuck wqith whoever theyt wish to rfere to,in theory they can refer you anywhere in uk,in practive thats rare. and we are i guess in NHS about 20 yrs behind that of USA and some other countries,we dont have many NHS endos whose speciality is male hrt, most arre either female hrt or diabetes and thyroid endos with little knowledge and certainly most dont see 13 nmo/l as low t,nor my 7.6 and 7.4 i have had i weas only just low according to NHS when i was 4.6 earlier this year. regards paul Re: My day at the endocrinology department.(english hospital) Hey Youngman_trust I am 33 and was put on Testosterone at your age and went through the same problems you are having.
