Guest guest
You will need to increase your Testim since 1 tube likely to be not providing enough T for you - this happens when body stops producing its own testosterone after few weeks on TRT - most get about 500 ng/dL TT on 7.5-10mg of Testim > > > Im a hypogonadol male, I have been using testosterone for over 10 > > > years. Guest guest
Statin drugs can cause muscle wasting which will damage your kidneys in addition to destroying a lot of muscle tissue. The side effect is part of the warnings for statin drugs and is called rhabdomyolysis. You'll want a CPK test. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003503.htm http://www.google.com/search?q=CPK+statin+damage & ie=utf-8 & oe=utf-8 & aq=t & rls=org.\ mozilla:en-US:official & client=firefox-a http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000473.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhabdomyolysis http://www.google.com/search?q=rhabdomyolysis & ie=utf-8 & oe=utf-8 & aq=t & rls=org.moz\ illa:en-US:official & client=firefox-a http://www.spacedoc.net/statins_muscle_damage_cost.html http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/news/statin_drugs_carry_low_risk_of_muscle_damage_\ leading_to_kidney_failure.htm http://www.google.com/search?q=statin+muscle+damage & ie=utf-8 & oe=utf-8 & aq=t & rls=o\ rg.mozilla:en-US:official & client=firefox-a Part of the problem at least is that statin drugs decrease the liver's production of CoQ10 in addition to lowering cholesterol. CoQ10 is downstream from cholesterol production. One can try supplementing CoQ10 BUT with muscle damage (if it's caused by statins) you'll want to STOP the statins ASAP. Statins also lower testosterone. http://www.google.com/search?q=statins+low+testosterone & ie=utf-8 & oe=utf-8 & aq=t & r\ ls=org.mozilla:en-US:official & client=firefox-a Again, if you are loosing muscle, you should stop the statin right away and find a specialist that deals with muscle damage from statins and to resolve this as best you can. The muscle damage is often not reversible and the breakdown of muscle damages the kidneys. This is the reason at least one statin drug, Baycol, was pulled from the market because it was killing people. Guest guest
Thank you for the below information. It helps provide some confirmation that statins caused my sudden andropause. In my particular case I didn't really notice andropause symptoms until about 3 months after I started statins. But perhaps the symptoms started sooner than that and I did not notice. I did not actually know I was experiencing andropause until I discussed in a routine physical what I had been experiencing recently. Avoiding heart disease is important, and if loosing libido was the only side effect of reducing heart disease risk, one needs to make a choice. But the other articles on muscle damage, kidney damage, leading to death is another side effect entirely. Since one should not necessarily trust drug companies to be transparent about the side effects of the drugs that help make them billions of dollars, one needs to self-evaluate benefit vs risk. I would add that there is gross negligence in the medical field in not doing comprehensive blood test analysis to determine all possible side effects of statins when prescribed. I wonder how many people on this board have stopped taking statins and had a reversal of their hypogonadism? I know I am going to stop taking statins to see if I can retain my strength, memory, concentration, and yes, my libido. Guest guest
You are a diamond. This link gives us a host of information as to how, why and where this muscle waste/weakness may be coming from. I will study this web link more closely over the next few days, I suggest we all do (those of us affected by the symptoms). Excellent stuff. It just goes to show that a problem shared, is a problem halved! Guest guest
I've been taking Lipitor 10mg for several years. Genetic predisposition to very high LDL runs in my family so I really don't have much of a choice. No matter what I do, if I go off the Lipitor, my LDL goes dangerously high. However there is likely some credence to this article. All drugs that affect liver function can affect any of the steroid hormones. Remember that statins don't affect cholesterol itself, only the proteins that carry it around. I'm going back to my regular doc soon and I'm going to see if I can go lower on the Lipitor, cut in half 5mg. This is an ultra low dose and hopefully the most I'll ever need. I'm convinced that my andropause was caused by my vasectomy. I believe some damage occurred during the procedure or an immune response attacked my testes after the procedure. I'm feeling good now though so I'm not worried. Nice info in this thread though. > > >>> Im a hypogonadol male, I have been using testosterone for > over > 10 > > >>> years.
