You have to ask yourself how your body is reacting. Are you adding fat or

muscle? With the higher level of T in your system and working out like you are

you would expect to add a considerable amount of muscle which could be part of

the weight gain. The second observation should be water retension - this would

be a sign of excess estradiol which the DIM is not able to control. Lastly, what

your caloric intake is. For a 215 pound weight you are talking ball park of 2500

calories a day. Increasing T will add muscle but shouldn't be adding fat unless

your caloric intake is too high or you are estrogen dominate.

I have been on testim gel for a month then switched to injections and

now since I have started to take DIM for a few weeks notice a leveling

off of heat wave, sweats (although not completely) and irritability.

I have also noticed that 30 minutes of treadmill and about an hour of

resistance, mostly machnines, seems to help level in general.

However, I am maintaining an uber tight diet. Goat yogurt and flax,

fruit, sardines, etc. Maybe it is the muscle to fat conversion, but I

have put on 20 pounds in two months and now am pushing 280lbs when i

should be max 215lbs.

If you read the article on the guy with hemochromatosis I uploaded to

the file section, he experienced the same thing until they introduced

HG. Then in 6 months he was back to normal body weight (BMI).

I think Phil had mentioned that getting T set right sometimes will

naturally increase GH. I have to do something I am growing out of

everything. I use to been athletic and lifted most of my life. I am

disciplined, I just don't know what to do know. I get good wood every

morning and I feel better, not great yet but coming.

The burn in the gym is intense more so than ever and I notic emass

piling on esp since i had muscl memory form before.

What to do? I am getting another set of labs and if the HG isnt

lifting after a month on gel and a month of .5 ml/week of injects

should I seek out HG?

Tom,

I'm glad you're experiencing some improvement. With all the work

you're putting into improving your health, you deserve the cooperation

of your body.

In their 2008 Special Winter edition, Life extension magazine

addresses four causes of weight gain ( & eventual obesity), naming 1)

excessive caloric consumption, 2) hormonal imbalance, 3) genetic

factors, & 4) physiological & molecular mechanisms regulating body fat

regulation as culprits. As you'd expect, many of these factors

aggravate or foster the other conditions.

Judging by your previous posts concerning diet (1600 calories) & your

previous condition, it would seem that hormones & physiological

factors would be worth exploring. Most of the hormones you had tested

in your last test seemed in good range (other than slightly elevated

Estradiol & moderate total Testosterone rather than high T). Other

hormonal levels that could play a role in this weight gain could be

high cortisol, low or high leptin , low T3, low adiponectin, & high

insulin. These are in addition to hGH. Testosterone should be

lowering your insulin & raising your hGH but it may not be enough.

Additionally, adiponectin sensitizes cells to insulin, thereby

requiring less insulin & minimizing weight gain. As you probably

guessed, hGH increases adiponectin. This may be yet method in which

hGH helps with fat loss. Leptin probably isn't worth testing, as you

can be leptin deficient or leptin resistant & have the same symptoms

(weight gain). I don't know of any local labs that test for

adiponectin. Here's some info about it:

I am sensing muscle density conversion, but I am 44 and really gearing

for cut and flexibility instead of bulk and strength. Light weights,

high reps. Thanks for the feedback

Thanks, I am sensing the E2 is being addressed wit the DIM and I am

sure there is a period that the DIM requires to be effective.

The next set of labs should be interesting.
