Guest guest
I've been suffering strange allergies for the past year, and no one seems to know where they come from. hives, and itches mostly in the evening, but it can start any time. I read that this MAY be a side effect of polycythemia... Has anyone experienced this?? Alegra has worked well in controlling it but the less pills I shove down my throat the better!!! Guest guest
It can also happen because of stress From: klaatu1962 <randy_boback@...> Subject: One more thing... Guest guest
I second the suspicion of stress. Hives & allergies can be a stress response. A diabetic ex-girlfriend of mine experienced diabetic ketoacidosis, a potentially lethal state for diabetics. After hospitalization, she began breaking out in hives, having extensive food allergies, experienced painful swelling in her lips & hands, etc. We tried blood allergen testing, which revealed a number of things she was allergic to, but despite avoiding those foods for several weeks, she still experienced hives, swelling, etc. Neither Benadryl nor prescription meds helped her. It took a food allergy diet in conjunction with stress reduction/management therapy to finally overcome them. I am still friends with her, & she recently reported a recurrence from poorly managed stress. Sudden, traumatic stress may be a catalyst for hives & allergies, though prolonged stress may also contribute to it. Have you tried/ do you try regular exercise, breathing exercises, or other stress management strategies? Having high anxiety from high estradiol (E2) might contribute to how you handle stress. I didn't see the original post for this, so I don't know if you've started or need to start TRT or perhaps some aromatase inhibitor like Arimidex to block excess estrogen. In any event, I hope some of this info is helpful. ~Xian > > From: klaatu1962 <randy_boback@...> > Subject: One more thing... > > Date: Sunday, August 24, 2008, 1:09 PM > > > > > > > I've been suffering strange allergies for the past year, and no one > seems to know where they come from. hives, and itches mostly in the > evening, but it can start any time. Guest guest
Hi, Something is bothering you and it is important to eliminate something minor one at a time like thistle which may be a cause. No idea how long it has to be out of your system to let itching go away. I had a wild response to an antibiotic and it took 10 days to heal my sore throat and tongue. ernestnolan > > I've been suffering strange allergies for the past year, and no one > seems to know where they come from. hives, and itches mostly in the > evening, but it can start any time. Stopping the probiotics as well. +++Hi Doug. Yes, coffee enemas are advisable. If the 9-Day Program helped before, she should do it again. She shouldn't be taking more magnesium, without balancing it with calcium, so please be cautious about increasing magnesium. Bee
Guest guest
Hi Bee... thanks for all the advice. I didn't mean to imply Marina is doing all kinds of medicines, etc.... She is very good at following your diet completely and we take all of your supplements at recommended amounts! I've found that we both do pretty well on about 666 mg of calcium (Source naturals) in 2 doses, and 800 mg of magnesium. (4 pills of Now brand) per day. Of course, Marina takes 3 grams of her vitamin C in the form buffered with calcium due to gastritis, so she only takes 1 Source Naturals Calcium pill each day). We are going to take your advice next month for her pre-menstrual period and see how it goes, as well as a coffee enema or two! She seems to be doing better the past couple of days. This natural healing thing isn't easy, when you have a lot of stuff to be healed from! Doug > > > > Maybe I'll recommend to Marina that she try a coffee enema... she hasn't tried that before. So you're getting just a little over 400 mg a day rather than the 600 Bee suggests (or the 800 you think you are getting). The same issue may be true for the Source Naturals Calcium if it's not elemental. Marissa
Guest guest
Thanks! I'll do a little more looking into it! I knew originally I was doing 3 pills of mag per day, and I had leg cramps. The cramps went away when adding the extra pill. However, I might experiment and jump the mag to 6 pills per day and see what happens! Maybe that will improve the functioning of Marina's nervous system as well!!! That's good you are both taking all of the supplements. Yes, I agree natural healing isn't easy. It seems Marina has a lot to heal too. The best to you both, Bee
