Guest guest
Hi - If you have Diabetes Insipidus, you have my sympathies. I've had pituitary D.I. since I was 7 yrs old (I'm 61, now.) The good news is that they at least have medications for it now that they didn't have when I was a kid. It was a pretty rare condition. Still is. About two years ago, my Dr. put me on something called Desmopressin and that cleared it up. I don't know how your Dr will diagnose you, and I don't want to play Dr (I don't want the responsibilty) but at least there are some options. One thing I want to add; when you tell the Dr that you drink a lot of water and urinate a lot, try to give him at least a rough idea of - how much- water you're talking about. Its not enough to say " a lot " , thats too ambiguous. What they really need to know is how much in a 24hr period, and they would like a number where the intake is the same as they output where everything evens out. Before I started medication, I would average around 3 gallons of water a day which is about 3 times normal (I probably drank twice that when I was a kid.) Anyway, good luck and let us know how it goes. Guest guest
Hi Phil- Thanks for the link. I do have it in one of my favorites folder but I haven't been there in a couple of years. Last time, they didn't have much, if any activity (well, the affliction -is- pretty rare.) I'll have to check it it out. Thanks again.
