Re: Hip and knee pain?

Sorry to hear about that, Jody.

I think Phil mentioned joint pain on Androgel or Testim which subsided

upon switching to shots. T gel preparations tend to result in higher

DHT & a lower T:DHT ratio than that found in eugonadal men. DHT

doesn't have the same bone building & protecting effects that properly

calibrated T & E2 do. Check out the file titled " TRTMethods.jpg " in

the group's Files section. Testosterone itself is known for

supporting bones- so much so that immobilized patients on it can

develop hypercalcemia.

Will your insurance cover a DXA scan for bone density?

Hope you can find the answers you seek.

Thanks Xian,

I'll be discussing this with my doc on the 20th. I'm hoping it just

subsides but we'll see. I know that eventually I'll end up on shots

but I'm really trying to give the gels a good go before then. I'll

keep everyone updated. My insurance will cover dexascans.

Skywalker, not knowing your age, physical condition, medical history, it's

not easy to diagnose the cause of hip and knee pain. Have you been carrying

garden potplants around again, or moving the washing machine?
