Hello Tim,

Sorry you've encountered the brush off. Welcome to the club ;-)

There might be some guys here who live near MO & could help you find a

local doctor. One doc who is somewhat close is Dr. Crisler, in

Lansing, MI. He's one of the best. You can also check the group's

database for doctors near you. Finally, you could ( & should) " screen "

doctors near you, asking their offices questions about their

familiarity with TRT (especially what methods they use, since this can

indicate how up to date they are). By doing this before you make an

appointment with them, you can save yourself time & money.

You might find that even if a doc starts you on TRT, he may have

antiquated ideas about how to do it, thus depriving you of

improvement. Dr. (Crisler) is expensive, but he's worth it.

Does anyone know of a good doctor in the Columbia Missouri area that

is open to questions regarding hypogonadism or low testosterone? I

went to my GP with specific questions and he blew them off as being

genetic. Kind of a jerk about it. I'd like to find a doctor who will

take me seriously.

Thanks

Hi ,

I checked out your doctors website, looks like an interesting guy! Is he

a D.O., M.D., etc?? He does injectable T with you?

Just wondering...

It has been since 1960 when I graduated from Univ. of MO but the

medical school had specialists of all types there then as was doing

open heart surgery on blue babies to save them. I worked part time for

a biophysics professor.

GP's frequently are uninformed and will not admit it. What they and

urologists don't know is unimportant in their minds sometimes. Others

have almost a religious feeling/attitude about giving anyone hormones.

Like giving whiskey to drunks. If God wanted you to be more sexy he

would have made sure you had all the T you needed.

I would call up the medical college and ask for information on your

subject and ask if any specialists are available there. Just a phone

call and you may get a good recommendation for either KC or St. Louis.

Yes you will have to travel most likely.

Testimonials of that site reveal the docs there do administer

testosterone injections ( http://www.ehacstl.com/ss.asp ).

He started out many years ago as a Pediatrician and for a long time now has been

a MD in Environmental Medicine.

I was on T injections when I started seeing him and he has continued them. He

actually upped my dose from what my Endo was doing. He did mention he liked

using compounded creams but I told him I was fine with the self injections. He

would prescribe HCG too if you could get it(I just order overseas). He has me on

Arimidex also.

He even had me do some food and inhaled allergy testing. He believes in testing

everything and not just stopping after finding one thing. He seems pretty up to

date and diet and supplements are a big deal.

St. Louis is an hour or two drive, but at St. Louis University Medical

Center, the head of Gerontology is Dr. Morley who is probably the

most famous, certainly the most published, expert on testosterone

replacement therapy. And, he is a very patient centered physician who

is very much worth the consult. Dr. Morley is where I would start.
