see next post about herbs...I think in our state of health, and with

reading The Autoimmune Epidemic book..it is my personal opinion that

everyone NEEDS some kind of adrenal support...stress is the arch

enemy of the adrenals and I think we all live with more stress today

then our ancestors of 100 years ago. So with that in mind, I don't

think JUST sleep and relaxation is going to " do the trick " with your

adrenals. Now I am not saying go against your doctors advice, but

from all that I know about adrenal fatigue and my own health...I'd

want on a suppliment. I'll check mine out, but I'm pretty sure it's

got animal tissue in it. So you'd be best looing at and

experimenting with some kind of herbs. Talk to an herbalist if

you're unsure. Even though our ND are GREAT..they can't be expected

to know EVERYTHING about our bodies.

I'll look forward to reading about what you're doing :-)

~Amy~

P.S. if I can find my adrenal book I'll look up some stuff for you.

P.S.S. Adrenals are connected to the kidneys. How are your kidneys

doing??

Also a new book I just got is Healing With Whole Foods...talks a lot

about balancing the energies in the body. Might be of interest to

you as well. Another book I just got is Quantum Wellness: A

Practical and Spiritual Guide to Health and Happiness

Hi Amy,

I've been a vegetarian raw foodist for six years, so I'm already on the

whole food bandwagon. I've been on Chinese herbs for adrenal support,

but as mentioned, took a break from them. Right now I'm on other

supplements geared more towards cancer than adrenals. My kidneys are

fine.

I'm actually, in great health. I was very surprised by the whole cancer

thing. But tolerated treatment really well, thanks to my whole food

diet.

The sleep thing was actually huge. I have been an insomniac for ten

years. So, the first order of business was to get me to sleep. One

step at a time, as they say. So, I am now actually sleeping. Though,

if it weren't for the melatonin, I would never get into bed. Once I got

my sleep pattern in good shape, work changed my work schedule. I now

work 5pm to 1am! After two months, I am now just getting my sleep

pattern organized. That's why I gave up the licorice root, it was

keeping me from sleeping. The other herbs I was on for adrenal support

were phytoestrogens - and now I can't remember what they were called. I

also just completed a liver cleanse and an endocrine disruptor.

My ND also graduated from a Chinese medicine school.

Talk to you later.
