Guest guest
Well I just had a thought I'd like to share and maybe get some opinions. In May 2006 I had a vasectomy. I read an article somewhere online that talked about post-vasectomy problems. I was 37 years old when I had the surgery. Vasectomies can cause your body to produce anti-sperm antibodies and in the article I read (I wish I could get back to it cause I'd post it) it stated that some men have had their Leydig cells attacked by these antibodies. Could it be that my problems stem from my vasectomy? Is it possible my uro damaged my Leydig cells during the procedure? It was pretty non-invasive, no scalpel technique. I'm just wondering since my most recent symptoms, other than the anxiety, seem to correspond to the months following the procedure.
Guest guest
sounds plausible. We need the Leydig cells to respond to LH to make testosterone. Damage to those cells would seem to cause a loss of T. But now you have to prove if it was a result of the procedure or did it occur naturally in men like me. Guest guest
I did read about a man that had a Vasectomy and he had a low grade infection from it that requires a special test to find and takes a special med to treat. It was at WebMD the infection caused his testosterone levels to go way down. He told his Dr. what the Uro at WebMD told him about it. They did the test and he had this infection took meds for it and his levels come back up. I have told this on here many times it was a good 8 yrs ago I read this at WeMD and can't find anything on it. Here is a link to the site. http://boards.webmd.com/webx?14488 (DOT) O4zka6MTdIA.0@.5987f442 Co-Moderator Phil > From: skywalker45_99 <skywalker45_99@...> > Subject: Vasectomies? > > Date: Friday, June 27, 2008, 7:50 AM > Well I just had a thought I'd like to share and maybe > get some > opinions.
