Guest guest
Hi, I got an endocrinologist appointment (someone who does reproductive endocrinology too, not just diabetes) in my small town for early Feb - nothing is available before that. I was thinking if I could educate myself from the internet and go to a general doctor (internal medicine) and get the tests started. What exact tests need to be done? Maybe repeat total/free testosterone, estrogen, FSH, LH, thyroid, semen analysis? Can a general doctor prescribe these tests? Then we would have a head start before going to the endocrinologist. I highly doubt my husband would be willing to drive to another state in the snow, when it took him one year and my threat to leave to go to a urologist. Are there any in IN/MO? TN/MI seem farther. Also, the T level of 200 was an evening level (4 PM maybe), and usually morning levels are measured. How much more is the morning level likely to be? I guess it does not vary too much over the day? I sometimes think the problems in my marriage (sexual, physical, emotional) are unsurmountable and I should just leave. But leaving a marriage is harder than leaving a relationship, and I have more motivation to try to make this work since this is a marriage. I hope I know at what point I should give up. I feel I devote all my time and energy in trying to fix my husband's problems and have no time left for myself. I have certainly been miserable for the first year of my marriage, which is supposed to be the blissful year. Sally
