Guest guest
Hi folks, my age is 40 and my symptoms are lack of energy, lack of confidence and erectile dysfunction. And i have problems keeping my weight and body fat down. Half a year ago i ran a blood and saliva test and got these results: Blood test: LH 1,8 mIU ml Range: 0,8 - 7,6 Total Testost: 451 ng dl Range: 200 - 810 Saliva test: Free Testost: 50,84 pg ml Range: 46,8 - 106,8 Estradiol: 3,36 pg ml Range: 1,01 - 4,15 I then started taking some resveratrol, nettle root, horny goat weed and avena sativa for a couple of months. A few days ago i got the results from a second blood test. LH 7.76 mIU ml Range: 0.8 - 7,6 Total Testost: 427 ng dl Range: 200 - 810 So, my LH was well stimulated by the supplements, but my total T dropped a bit. What do I make out of this? Should I stop the supplements? Or take others? Should i check the free T and estradiol? I`m not feeling any difference. I want my total t to increase to 600 something. Guest guest
LH turns on and off very fast your first test could have been when it was off. Saliva testing is not good for sex hormones just Cortiosl I don't even trust them for Thyroid. Redo you labs in blood work here is a list that Dr. does. ======================================================= This is taken from Dr. 's site at www.allthingsmale.com in TRT: A Recipe for Success. • Total Testosterone • Bioavailable Testosterone (AKA " Free and Loosely Bound " ) • Free Testosterone (if Bioavailable T is unavailable) • DHT • Estradiol (specify the Extraction Method, or " sensitive " assay for males) • LH • FSH • Prolactin • Cortisol • Thyroid Panel • CBC • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel • Lipid Profile • PSA (if over 40) fggrrrerr <no_reply > wrote: Hi folks, my age is 40 and my symptoms are lack of energy, lack of confidence and erectile dysfunction. Guest guest
Hey Jo - first there is basically no difference in your T values. This would be in the statistical norm. As far as your LH - this test is tricky because you get LH in spurts so I would guess that it really has not changed especially if you have not felt any change in symptoms. My guess is that your estrogen dominant - that is your ratio of T to E2 should be 20-30 and you are about 10. High levels of E2 will give you symptoms as you described. You sound like a prime candidate for an aromatase inhibitor such as arimidex or femara. Look in the files section and you will find studies where men were given an aromatase inhibitor (aromatase is an enzyme that converts T to E2 and caused fat deposits. Men who took the AI saw a sharp increase in T and a reduction in E2. My 2 cents - Arkansas fggrrrerr <no_reply > wrote: Hi folks, my age is 40 and my symptoms are lack of energy, lack of confidence and erectile dysfunction.
