Guest guest
hi. just wondered if anyone can help out. i am based in the UK and am waiting to see the fertility doc as we are trying for a baby. 1 am 36, have had depression since i was 21 (although i have always thought it is something to do with testosterone) and have recently had my sperm count tested. i have 18m sperm when minimum required is 20m (per...) motility is 45% and min should be 50% These reading are just below normal so all is not lost. however, the 3rd reading tells you about the shape of each sperm and should be around 15% healthy. i am down at 4% and so this is the worrying thing. what i want to know is, can hormone replacement or similar treatment change this figure upwards. are my anti Dep drugs affecting this figure. i take 75mg effexor a day and 400mg carbamazapine (used as mood stabilizer) a day. This depression / low fertility is all related to low Test. i have just had some blood tests done this week and will wait for results in 2 weeks time. i have had 2 blood tests done in the last 15 yrs at my request, but always i am normal. this time i will be asking what the results are and doing some research. finally, i had an undecended testicle brought down when i was 9 yrs. i went through normal puberty and had a normal life until i was 21. then i lost muscle mass, put weight on my stomach even though i did a lot of exercise, lost appetite, sex drive, stamina and strength. felt tired a lot and generally life was hard to do. my breathing also seized up and i couldnt get proper deep lung fulls. life has got a lot better in the last 6 six i reckon, but i still experience a cycle pattern where i suddenly get tired and loose all energy and my stomach just becomes bigger (water retention sort of thing) and my strength and stamina decrease. this can last for a few days and then i am back to normal for a few days. i have put a lot of info down to help you recognise signs. thanks for any help.
