Guest guest
If you live in a farming area, which it sounds like you do not, you know that shell corn is simply kernels of corn shucked off the cob. But it is DRY, HARD corn---corn that is either fed to animals or made into ethanol or otherwise used for agricultural/industrial purposes. Other people use rice the same way as Kim has said she uses shell corn. It may be that shell corn keeps its heat a good deal longer than does rice because it is a denser kernel than rice. So, if you have any farms near you, you can easily get more than enough shell corn for the purpose suggested. If not, you may have to use rice. Great, safe use of the microwave oven, by the way!
