Guest guest
Hey Rick, Now that I'm not quite as pressed for time, the information about the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists revised stance regarding TSH levels can be found here: http://www.thyroid-info.com/articles/aacereversal.htm As our group moderator Phil would say, TSH isn't all that reliable- it doesn't tell you actual thyroid function. Dr. Romeo no, a neuroendocrinologist in Monterey, notes that sometimes (often?) the pituitary miscalculates the need for further thyroid stimulation, such that TSH can appear within the reference range while symptoms of hypothyroidism persist. Better indications of thyroid activity include total T4 & T3, as well as free T4 & T3 (http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/tsh-why-its-useless/) . Reverse T3 might also be helpful to determine how much T3 can actually bind to cells. ~Xian > > Yea i knew about 5.0 didnt know its 3.0 now wow.... >
