Androgel and Testis Shutdown

I am 40 years old, and apply 5 mg of Androgel daily. My T level is now nornmal,

feeling very good since I've started TRT since early June.

2 things concern me however:

1. I don't want my testis to shrink. Is this reversible? I don't feel quite the

intensity down there like I used to. A sonogram performed in August showed no

change, yet the longer I'm on TRT, it might cause shrinkage. On the other hand,

my erections are solid, don't even need levitra any more. What can be done to

prevent shrinkage. In courting women, it sure is embarrassing and if so, I'd

take myself off of TRT and go back to clomid or natural means.

2. My BP has been higher than normal.

Looking forward to your feedback.

Thanks!

I wish you could post your labs Dr.'s tell men they are good on Gels and they

have very low levels on 5 grams. You don't know how good you would feel on

higher levels until you get there. You need your total T up into the upper 1/3

of your labs range for a young man and to keep your Estradiol levels down to

about 20 pg/ml.

Being on any kind of TRT your brain sees the Testosterone in your blood and

shuts down sending the LH and FSH messages to your testis to make T and they

stop working. Plus all the LH and FSH cells in your body and brain. So we add

in HCG to the TRT on gels you would do a 250 IU's shot every 3 days. Here is a

cut and paste of a post to men from Dr. the King Dr. for men's hormones to

get my Dr. to let me add in HCG.

========================================================================

He probably feels that since you suffer primary hypogonadism (I am guessing)

there is no use in adding HCG to your protocol. There are several reasons why

this is not so. First, you have not lost all Leydig cells, so any HCG you take

will stimulate those who still function to produce endogenous testosterone.

This will support testicular size. We should not ignore this aesthetic

consideration.

Next, if he reads my work, he will learn that HPTA-suppressed (as all TRT

patients are to some extent) also suffer decreased pregenenolone levels, which

is the first step after CHOL in all three hormonal pathways which begin with

CHOL. HCG increases pregnenolone production, and therefore restores a more

natural balance of our hormones.

Next, nearly all TRT patients who add in HCG to their regimens report an

increased sense of well-being and also libido. These are genuine quality of life

issues.

Finally, I just instinctively do not want all those LH receptors (including

those we have yet to discover and appreciate) unstimulated.

==========================================================================

And this link supports what he says about HCG at his site go to

www.allthingsmale.com and read TRT: A Recipe for Success and his HCG update he

puts this out there free for you and your Dr.

I was on TRT for 23 yrs and my testis got so small they were the size of small

grapes. In about 3 to 4 months on HCG my testis come back to there normal size.

I use Novarel brand this works great for me but if you can't get your Dr. to

give you this you can buy it from the ADC just let us know and we will give you

sorces to get it.
