Guest guest
Does having low test feel like you have chronic fatigue syndrome. my latest test results for Test Level was 170. Should that be causing me significant symptoms? I got my first test injection today of 200 eth. 1cc and when the nurse gave it to me I asked if and when I might see any improvemnt on my quality of life since I basically am house bound from the fatigue and off work. She said " I DONT KNOW IF IT IS GOING TO CURE ALL OF YOUR SYMPTOMS! " Now I dont know if maybe I have something else going on and the low t is just a result of that or if my low t is causing most of my symptoms. I have severe fatigue, muscle cramps from any kind of physical activity, severe brain issues like I have become totally stupid and cant remember nothing, sleep disturbances, and basically dont care much about life anymore. Damn nurse now she has me thinking I have something else going on and that the Dr.s are missing it because after many many tests the only red flag coming up is the Low Test. Grrrrrrr. What do you guys thinK?

Guest guest
A testosterone level this low could be causing easy fatigue/exhaustion from minute tasks, loss of muscle mass, weakness, memory problems, anxiety, lack of motivation/depression, & lots of other things. However, other hormonal culprits could be low cortisol or thyroid imbalance- either too high or too low. Currently, there is some investigation of a relationship between hypothyroidism & Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/2006/11/05/chronic-fatigue-syndrome/). In any event, one imbalance tends to trigger another. Read Phil's story on stopthethyroidmadness.com or find pieces of it in this group- you might be able to identify with many of his symptoms/limitations prior to starting TRT, thyroid replacement therapy, & hydrocortisone (his whole endocrine system was messed up due to pituitary damage from a head injury). Testosterone can affect everything else, so you may or may not need additional meds depending on how much testosterone normalizes some of the other hormones. Do you have any other hormone test results? ~Xian > > Does having low test feel like you have chronic fatigue syndrome. my > latest test results for Test Level was 170. Guest guest
You will find a lot of the medical community is not educated in this area. This level of T is very low and could in fact be causing your problems. One step at a time. Get your T up and see what symptoms it alleviates. When my T was 180 I was tired all the time. 200 mg is a large shot however - what is the plan going forward? Guest guest
Those are indeed signs of low T and 170 is very low unless you are about 150 years old. The best thing for you to do at this point is continue the T injections. Get your level up to the upper third of your range. Have your blood checked in two months. I would feel safe to say you should be able to feel better within the two months. A thyroid test or even a E2 test might have to be considered. But for now, stay with the T injections. Let us know your progress. Guest guest
14 months ago I was in a similar situation, although I was always able to work. I could get 10 hours sleep and 8 hours later I'd fall asleep in a recliner chair. I started on 1 ml of 200 mg/ml of Testosterone Cypionate a month, then doubled that dose. Later I went to bi-weekly injections instead of monthly. I added 1/4 mg of Arimidex every other day after reading about that here. After 10 months of T injections, my E2, Estradiol had climbed to 75 pg/mL. Normal range for men is 0 - 53 pg/mL. My Estrone ( E1 ) was 81 pg/ML and the normal range is 12-72. Adipose (fat) tissue has an enzyme called aromatase, which can convert testosterone to estrogen. Arimidex is an aromatase inhibitor and this will reduce the effect. Although I felt better within the first day of my testosterone injection it was about 3 months before I felt the full effect. I spent last summer exercising more and feeling more physically fit than ever before in my life. I was never athletic or very physically active even in my youth. I have walked for 3 solid hours without stopping and have done 1 hour 20 minutes on the Nordic Track without stopping. I converted a lot of fat to muscle. I was 231 pounds when I started. I got down to 206, but have gained back to 215 since winter came on. With regular testosterone injection I think you will find that if you apply a constant effort toward exercise, your results and capacity will rise exponentially. I still don't run much.... Mostly walking and Nordic Track, but I've got energy and have built up a lot of muscle. It takes less effort to do an hour on the Nordic Track then it did to do 5 minutes a year ago. > > Does having low test feel like you have chronic fatigue syndrome. my > latest test results for Test Level was 170.
