Guest guest
Yes I take a water pill and Cialis will lower ones BP but not much the water pill I was on was very strong. I gained 40 lbs of water after having heart bypass sugary. It's a long story you can read it at this link and the update about my heart. http://forums.realthyroidhelp.com/viewtopic.php?f=5 & t=9239 later after 5 surgery's on them water pills I lose the water and a total of 100 lbs. I was out cold 17 weeks. When I went on TRT my hands and feel would swell up from water some men on TRT hold water. I take now the same water pill I have been taking for yrs. I take this pill every 3 days. Triamterene/HCTZ 37.5/25 mgs. After reading I believe it was Joe's post about taking Isinopril 10 mg. He said he had to stop taking it because of a cough. I have this and a build up of flem in my upper chest and I am all ways trying to hack this up. I have to cough hard to do this now I wonder if it's the Isinopril. I showed the Dr.'s my reading of BP on my gage showing them to low so they said cut the pills in half. I want to come off them at one time they took me off them but the nurse that was coming out to the house to check on me took my BP got a high reading and called the Dr. Even after I told her don't take my BP I have White Coat Fever and every time someone takes my BP they get high readings. So this is the crap that happens to me. When I was in my late 20's Dr.'s kept at me about my high BP levels they were getting. So they put me on BP meds then I go back in a month for a follow up and they take it and up the BP meds. This went on and on until I was passing out at work the Dr. on staff at work told me my BP was very low and to tell the Dr. I am on to much BP meds and to check to see if I have WCF. They put a machine on my in the hosp. back then and found my BP was fine that I have WCF. So what is one to do they gave me a clean bill of health on my heart and told me to get back to walking and working out in the Gym. And keep losing weight. I did this for 2 months and started feeling dizzy and just in the last week I got up to fast and walked in to the next room and pass out. My BP is even lower now that I was walking and going to the Gym. Now I feel fatigued and light headed all day long. Guest guest
Thanks Phil. What is WCF? I went to my internist yesterday because neither my Uro nor Endo wanted to deal with my sudden jump in BP...go figure you can't get one doctor to deal with the whole. I'm not symtematic for high BP. My resting pulse is low at 61, my EKG was fine, my weight is 182 at 6' 0'', I workout with weights 3-4 times a week, walk my dog an hour/day, no pains, no headaches, no nothing. But my BP is 175/88. so they put me on Water pills (hydrochorothuazide) 25mg/day. Since I'm on transdermal T at 75mg/day they don't think the jump in BP from 135/80 3 months ago is due to steroid induced high BP. Since neither my Uro nor Endo did labs for kidney function(incompetence!) the internist took labs to test for kidney function. BTW I googled Maca and Blood Pressure and Maca can increase BP. Anyway hope you feel better soon Phil and thanks for all your help and advice on this forum. > > > From: mqsymth <alphadennis@...> > > Subject: Cialis and Water Pills > > > > Date: Thursday, September 10, 2009, 6:15 PM > > Phil you mentioned you take water > > pills 3x a week to control BP and you take 20/3=6.66mg > > cialis /day. Guest guest
Hi Phil, I am assuming you are talking about the BP med called Lisinopril. I was on Lisinopril (10mg and 20mg at different times) for about 10 months and noticed a constant cough. I initially thought it was my asthma, but my doctor said that one of the most common side effects of Lisinopril is the cough. He said it happens in about 3% of the people. For me, I could cough and cough and cough and feel like I was never coughing anything up. A few times, I came close to vomiting from coughing so hard. I stopped the Lisinopril about 3 weeks ago and the cough is already gone. My doctor prescribed Diovan which is an ARB (Angiotensin Receptor Blocker) versus Lisinopril which is an ACE-inhibitor. From what I understand, most/all ACE-inhibitors can cause the cough as a side effect. Guest guest
White Coat Fever I don't feel this is a problem other then going on TRT I would keep an eye on your BP you might find it will come down as your body gets leveled on TRT and starts to undo any damgage done by low T. Guest guest
I've been on transdermal T since Oct/2008 so I think my body has gotten used to it? My prolatin dropped from 275g/dl on Nov/2008 to 26ng/dl on 8/18/09..perhaps this drop in the pituatary hormone messed with all the other hormones causing the jump in BP...don't know. I will be seeing Dr. next week and perhaps he can put it all together. I think once we find out our BP is high then we all have WCF from then on! > > > > > > > From: mqsymth <alphadennis@> > > > > Subject: Cialis and Water Pills > > > > > > > > Date: Thursday, September 10, 2009, 6:15 PM > > > > Phil you mentioned you take water > > > > pills 3x a week to control BP and you take > > 20/3=6.66mg > > > > cialis /day. Guest guest
Well we have looked this drug up and find most of my problems with this cough, feeling light headed and fatigued are sides to this Lisinopril. Now that I am getting exercise this feeling is getting worse now when I stand if I walk right away I fall down. I was off this med once and was feel dam good my BP levels come up to 120/80 and I felt great. At the time a nurse was coming out to the house when I got out of the hosp. She went to take my BP I told her the Dr. took me off the BP. med and that I have White Coat Fever and she will get a high reading. Well she did and called my Dr. so he put me back on it knowing full well I have White Coat Fever so he was covering his As* and I am all the worse for it. I am stopping this med as a test for a week and taking my BP 3 x's a day as a test to see what happens. I don't have anything wrong with my heart and feel Dr.'s are over doing it with them meds because I just had Heart bypass sugary 7 months ago. Right now I am afraid to drive I am so dizzy.
