Guest guest
Strokes were from uncontrolled diabetes for many years. I was going through a major depression in my life years ago. I deceded to stop seeking medical attention of any kind for almost 8 years. The result was high bllod pressure and type 2 diabetes. I was also eating everything in site to help with the depression. And bang at 42, I had my first stroke. ___ Strokes are an eye opeing experience. I regained my will to live and have been practically living at the doctors office ever since then. Regular blood tests, etc. ___ Totally normal blood sugar, totally normal blood pressure, lost 100 lbs, need to loose another 100. ___ And even doing everything the dr's said to do, I had a 2nd stroke last winter. There only explanation was, lingering damage to the brain blood vessels from all those years of uncontrolled diabetes. Thats when they added blood thinners as a preventitive measure. ___ Needless to say, I have learned my lesson about neglecting one's health. Perhaps I am too much in the other direction now. On my way to my monthly blood tests today. __ I also spend between $600-$1200 a month on alternative cures and herbs, not counting the endless hours of reading internet web sites and news groups. ___ It would be nice if there were some magic way to good health. I am trying them all, herbs, chinese medicine, religion, modern medicine. I am fighting to survive and compensate for years of neglect. ___ You never know how much you will miss your health until it's gone. ___ Believe me, I felt great eating constantly and running at full steam ahead, until I blew a fuse (or brain blood vessel). I have yet to feel as good as I did before my first stroke. ___ Dont let it happen to you. It's no fun.
Guest guest
> Yes I have one large gallstone 2.8 cm and calcified. Is there a way to be 100% sure that a stone is calcified by just viewing in an ultrasound? I've heard different things on this...mine are visible in ultrasound, but all have come our soft so far. Not hard like rocks. Does calcified mean that maybe there is some broken down " powdery " for lack of a better way to say it, calcium mixed in with the cholesterol, etc. that makes up the stone, or are they actually hard as a rock?? Guest guest
Yes I have one large gallstone 2.8 cm and calcified. Thus I am afraid of flushing until the stone has been broken up into small pieces from the herbal treatment.
Guest guest
A CT scan can actually measure the density of the stones. They don't normally give those as CT scans are more expensive. I insisted on a CT scan as a follow up, so I would know what I was dealing with.

You know, I got the impression, from reading Dr. 's stuff, that calcified just meant that the center had hardened, and not the entire stone. I had stones show up on an ultra-sound and mine came out relatively soft after a flush. I think I read that the solution they treat them with prior to gallbladder removal surgery makes the gallstones get all hard and discolored the way they are shown in the pictures. Mine were mostly bile green as Dr. said they would be. Maybe it helps that I always make a point of drinking LOTS of water? Luci
