New US guidelines on diabetes management

The American Diabetes Association (ADA) has published updated guidelines on the

management of diabetes. These have been revised since the issue of the 2007

version, to

incorporate recent published evidence and to make them more user friendly. They

include

the current Standards of Care advocated by the ADA for both type 1 and type 2

diabetes,

plus recent ADA Position Statements. Areas specifically covered include

Diagnosis and

Classification, Nutrition Recommendations and Interventions, and Diabetes Care

in School /

Day Care, and Correctional Institutional Settings.

Diabetes Care 2008; 31 (Suppl 1): S1-S110 (link to Table of Contents); full text

currently

available to subscribers only: will be made available via the ADA website here
