IPT (low dose chemo)

My husband received IPT at EuroMed Clinic in Phoenix.  We believed this was a

less toxic form of chemo, that he would not get sick, would not lose his hair,

etc.  We were wrong.  He didn't tolerate it well at all, and his entire body

paid the price. So don't believe this form of chemo only affects your cancer

cells.  In my husband's case, his whole body was poisoned!

If I remember correctly, some time ago commented about IPT not always

being done properly and yes, it is supposed to be less toxic and lesser amounts

should produce less side effects. 'Should' is the important word. Nothing

works for all people the same, all the time. I suspect that if not done

properly one could develop 'resistance' to particular drugs.

It seems the use of chemo when an immediate stop-gap is needed could be

considered prudent but which of us would know when and how does one rely upon an

Oncologist that would use massive doses routinely? It seems that if one is

leaning towards Alternative and their practitioner knows what they are doing,

they would get the necessary advice as to when immediate and heavy action is

required.

The record of Chemotherapy is not a good one and if the Australian Oncologists

that prepared their report on Chemotherapy are to be believed, they clearly

state the benefit both in Australia and The U.S.. amounts to 2% of the people

receiving Chemotherapy get a benefit.

When one looks back at 's posts and his experience with the Oncologist

that never answered his questions, one might get the impression they better be

sure they know what they are doing and not simply 'jump into the arms' of Dr.

White Coat. That puts is in a difficult position and I for one would only deal

with someone, an Alternative that knows what works and what doesn't as well as

an Allopath that is 'easy' to work with and respects my involvement in my own

care. Why would anyone want a physician that does not respect their wishes and

aims? This is why we need to cultivate a relationship using tact when

developing that rapport needed. Slapping egotistical doctors in the face is not

the way.

Today we learned that a Navratilova " has breast cancer " .......that was the

headline. She had a Lumpectomy in March and will undergo Chemotherapy. The

article stated 50,000 women are diagnosed each year with DCIS, which this is,

with 2% of DCIS patients dying of Invasive cancer in the next 10 years. The

article says it " is removed because it is a risk factor " in developing Invasive

Breast cancer.

What is the percentage of any group of 50,000 women dying of Invasive Breast

Cancer in any given year? The Conventional system admits that not every case of

DCIS becomes 'Invasive' so what do the percentages mean? I look at it as the

person developing any cancer or dying from treatment as being 100% for the

person it happens to. I ignore the words, " rare " because it happens and when it

does, it is no longer rare.

Statistics are almost useless when on one hand we hear that the benefit accrued

to people receiving chemotherapy is only 2% while others claim otherwise? We

are left to decide after much 'hammering' by 'The Team' of doctors handling our

own cases. Not many can resist the pressure and most do not. My first move,

after diagnosis, is to run as fast as I can to someone I respect and whom I have

confidence in.

The last one would be the Allopathic physician. I'll use them for diagnosis

and, if advised to do so, might let them 'practice' on me. let me qualify

that. When wondering about the use of a certain 'Immunotherapy' for bladder

cancer, advised that " it has good science behind it " ..........so I

allowed it and besides, it isn't Chemotherapy in the usual sense in that it is

instilled into the bladder and then 'voided' out within two hours rather than

injected into the body to kill off good cells. However, I felt confident

because of having that 'well-respected Alternative Practitioner in my corner.
