A predicament-- need help

Someone on another list recommended this list to me to try and get

some

assistance with my problem.

I am having major " attacks " -- it feels like my gallbladder but

that's impossible seeing it was removed last year. Back in

September 2000,

I had gastric bypass surgery and have since lost nearly 300 lbs and

am now

28.5 weeks pregnant.

I spent this past Thursday evening in the ER with them doing tests.

They

suspected it

could be pancreatitis or a blocked duct. I am opting for the latter-

- a

stone blocking my duct.

Here's my predicament: I want to do a liver cleanse. My sister

swears by

this and she and her

11.5 year old daughter do it a couple of times a year and pass

stones. I am

desperately wanting to pass what I believe to be are these stones.

The

problem is that you get diarrhea which (I've heard) can cause pre-

term

labor.

I am desperate and in a great deal of pain no matter what I do. They

finally told me on Thursday that it could be " gastritis " due to the

baby.

But, there's no way it's that (in my opinion) because I had this 3-4

times a

year PRIOR to getting pregnant.

Any advice for me being so far along (in my third trimester) and

suffering?

Opinions please! :)

Warmly,

I am sorry to hear about your problems, I can totally relate to you.

I started having gallstone attacks (that would last anywhere from 20

min to 24 hours)when I was pregnant for the first time it was the

most horrible experience. I had a few attacks in the beginning of

pregnancy, and by 7 months was having them at least twice a week and

that was on a nonfat diet, wich was also horrible. I also had

pancreatitis 6 or 7 times, My mom is a homeopath and alot of her

friends are natural health parctitioners and they all recommended the

cleanse but NOT DURING PREGNANCY, so it would probably be a good idea

to wait, I also had my gb removed about 4 months after giving birth

and after 3 cleanses. I didnt have much success with them at the

time< however I did have alot of success with accupuncture, I would

recommend you give that a try as it is safe during pregnancy. I also

have been having " gallbladder attacks " since removal of my

gallbladder. They say this may be due to stones in the liver although

some drs disagree with this. I also just found out I am 4 weeks

pregnant so I hope I dont have to go through the same mess as last

time, although it was worth it because I just love my son and I dont

regret it! I would suggest you wait till after pregnancy to cleanse

in case there is any chance it can start labor, although I know many

times when I had a gallbladder attack the pain would start the labor

and they would have to give me medication. Also there are things you

can do to cleanse the liver other than the flush, like foods that are

cleansing and I was also told that beet tablets help to soften

stones, also dandelion root is very good. although you may want to

check if it is safe during pregnancy, well, im sorry i wrote so much

its just that I can really relate to how you are feeling and I hope

you feel better!!! Good

luck!!

Hello ,

The following link will give you a few ideas about flushing and

pregnancy.

don't get there by clicking on the above.)

Some people suggest to take lecithin to help to emulsify the fat;

others say to take water every day and use a teaspoon of Epsom

salt/day in the water (not enough to cause diarrhea).

There are some cleanses that do not use Epsom salts. Go to the

group's links pages and look up the cleanses folder.

Pancreatitis is usually helped by resting the pancreas. In the

hospital they do this by having the patient not eat and fed through

IV only.

Drink plenty of water and try to find out which foods will be

beneficial.

Best of luck!

TinyURL helps a lot with long URL's.
