Guest guest
If you make a new group please post a special notice to let us all know or send us an invite (you can copy & paste 30 a day I think). Be sure there are enough moderators so this won't happen again. It would be great if you could post the emails publicly that go to the blog. This problem is happening in another group I belong too. It's time these people are exposed. It's a nightmare trying to get them to remove it. They're well-hidden. Domain and hosting are different companies and they all blame it on someone else and no one does anything in the long run. It's a disgrace. They do it to increase their keywords and get hits to their blog to sell advertising. Pure sleaze to expose others private information. Please report them to . We have the ability to create a new group, which would allow us to change the membership requirements so people need to ask permission to join. Guest guest
Hi All, I am convinced that the idea of protection of some imaginary copyright is fundamentally wrong in this case. 1) The whole idea about groups like these is sharing of information for free and freely. That is the only way to access as many people as possible with information, which may hopefully help them out of their misery, meaning getting them healthy again. 2) There is extremely little possibility that anyone can profit by reprinting any information contained on this and similar groups for personal gain. Even if so, I would consider it much more acceptable to the peace of my soul, to help one person to survive cancer, than preventing hundred other persons to profit from the information submitted here and reprinted in whatever form elsewhere. 3) Very few persons on this group are even identifiable in the first place. If the author is not identifiable, what copyrights? 4) Why would " VeraGumgum " or similar be worried about her condition becoming public elsewhere, and not here? What are we even discussing here? It is non issue. What privacy? I am one of the very few here and I don't give a rats behind for my health condition being known, here or elsewhere. 5) I will personally consider any move towards any restrictions on the content of this, or any other self help health group, or an access to them, as an attack on free flow of grass roots health information. With kind regards, Slavek.
Guest guest
Here's the link to the latest blogspot: http://cancertruthfacts.blogspot.com/ The uploads stopped after I deleted four suspect members. To summarize: There is concern about the loss of information that is archived here if we move to a new group. There is concern about maintaining two groups as people might not get the support they need if they post in the wrong group. There are those who would like a bit more privacy. There are those that don't care. And then there's Slavek who says, " I will personally consider any move towards any restrictions on the content of this, or any other self help health group, or an access to them, as an attack on free flow of grass roots health information. " Even though this is a moderated group and a moderator decides if his post his will go through or not. There are 3,500 members of . Many are spammers - the moderators delete those posts. Some are people who are praying on cancer patients. Some are bouncing. But there are a whole lot of people who only communicate through private email because they don't feel safe posting in a large group such as this. I don't have any answers, but want to do what's best for the majority of people. Unfortunately, since we can't respond to the poll, we won't be able to tell what the majority thinks. But I have appreciated hearing people's thoughts on the situation.
Guest guest
I HAD TO CHANGE MY ID AND NAME BECAUSE I FOUND POSTS I MADE TO WHEN I GOOGLED MY NAME ON THE WEB..STOLEN INFORAMTION FROM . I WAS SOO ANGRY...I STILL AM! STUPID ME, ACTUALLY USED MY REAL NAME WHEN I MADE MY ACCT AND PROBABLY DIDNT UNDERSTAND IT ENUF....SOOOOOOO UPSETTING. GOOGLE UR NAME AND SEE WHAT YOU FIND From: denise cook I don't understand what is going on there - were they just uploading ALL of the posts here to that blog? That's what it looks like, just complete copies of everything that was posted here. I can't read the owner's name, it looks foreign. They even uploaded the Invasion of Privacy post - perhaps this person does not even read English and doesn't realize that he uploaded an indictment of his own blog? I think we should submit a complaint to Blogger and demand that this blog be taken down immediately. The content of the blog does not belong to him and he is in violation of Blogger's TOA. I'm guessing this was their way of generating content and possibly income by just stealing content and therefore getting traffic to his blog. We should also submit a complaint to Google Adsense, since I see he has ads for them on that blog as well. They will withhold any payments belonging to him for stolen content! If we all do this, he will definitely be taken down and subjected to loss of whatever money he has earned on this. Now that I took a look at what you were referring to, I am very angry! Guest guest
The email addresses were obvious because they actually were blogger.com. So, what's to stop something this obvious from happening again? Easy, we don't approve email addresses that are from blogger.com. But we can't control that in this group because we can't change the settings of the group. It gets frustrating. > > I wouldn't want to join if it wasn't a group just like this one. > What would stop the information thief from joining the new group and still > posting everything?
