I went through late puberty and saw an endo when I was 18 yrs

old, at the time they tested me and determined I suffered from low

testerone. I was given a prescription to kick my body into puberty, I

assume It was a staggered testerone replacement. However the endo

left it at that. I am now 32 years, have always suffered from

depression, and am overweight wearing 44x32 pants and weigh 275

pounds at 6ft. I visited a doctor recently who did not want to

prescribe anti-depressants off the cuff and suggested I should have

my throid and t levels tested. At that point I mentioned my earlier

endo visit years ago and she indicated that we should proceed with

the blood tests. I dont have the exact values of my T levels, however

I could probally obtain them. Before I begin this treatment I would

be interested in any thoughts/suggestions others may have as I did

not have a full endo workup done but the doctor indicated thryoid

funtion was fine, just low T.

I now have a prescription which reads as follows.

Depo-Testosterone solution cypionate 100 mg/mL intra-musc.

Disp: QS 1 month

Sig: 50 mg Q4 weeks

Refills: 2

Reading the above is this an adequate amount given my

size/weight/height. Are their any side effects I should be on the

look out for? Should I have a full endo workup, or be thankful I have

a doctor who is willing to go the steroid route?

Also reading the above, I assume Sig means I should inject 50mg once

every 4 weeks.

Thanks for any light you might shed.
