Guest guest
Hi all, Like Bruce, I have AIH, as diagnosed at Mayo Clinic. My case is so mild that I do not take any medications at all. I just get monitored every few years. Yet, there is always a concern that it could flare .... Mayo folks believe that a mild case almost always stays mild and a very fast action disease is hardest to get to remission. The most critical point is the level of damage at discovery .... just how bad has the liver been damanaged. Bruce, you mentioned your " GI doctor " .....is he a Chineese herbalist or a gastro doctor. Have not heard of any US doctors advocate herbs as apparently your doctor does. Just another pitch for the PBCers Conference in Las Vegas .......Like to meet to you all there. My doctor was not ready to prescribe prednizone and imuran at this point. I've been taking some chinese herbal remedies for a couple weeks now. I'm going to take some more labs next week and will report back on what happens. I'm currently taking 12 capsules a day. Six of them are for a combination of herbs that are designed to restore proper immune system regulation (smilac glabia, poria cocos, and discorea) The balance are some herbs which promote liver cell growth and protection (elclipta, ganadama, and green tea) I've also taken some schizandra and dandelion root. None of these herbs has had any side effects that I'm aware of. The GI doctor that presribed them mentioned his last four patients achieved complete remission within 1 year. They aren't cheap at about $100 month but thats nothing if they work. Later Bruce >>

The big push is for paperwork reduction- which has merit- as long as the rights of our children are not reduced with it. There are some good things in the report- but we need to be watchful. Guest guest
Well Cheryl, lol, sometimes I think it might work where I am. It seems we are working on the same goals to different degrees for the past 3 years. Before anyone gets up in arms, I do review it carefully and placement and services have been rough the past year and 1/2. I actually think we are mastering a few educational goals this year that were properly written for the first time. mom to Bridget 9 ds in SC > The big push is for paperwork reduction- which > has merit- as long as the rights of our children are not reduced with it. Guest guest
Limiting paperwork is just another way of saying limited accountability IMHO. Who will be responsible for implementation and making sure IEPs are implemented?? Why we parents of course AS USUAL. Guest guest
Recently I got a phone number (800) from someone on the board for buying all the ingredients needed to do the liver/kidney cleanse. I've LOST that phone number. Does anyone out there have it they can resend to me? Also, which is better (as well as cheaper) buying from clarkia.com or using the (800) phone number and ordering that way? I am needing to do all of these cleanses but money is quite an issue. Thanks, De On 11 Jun 2003 08:36:57 -0000 gallstones writes: >

I've been brewing it and taking it for more than ten years. Using the now questionably accurante formula that Glum published that includes the turkey rhubarb root. He claims to have paid $120,000.00 for that formula. Someone on this list states that this formula is inaccurate and that BLOODROOT should be used in place of the TURKEY RHUBARB root. I've been using wildcrafted herbs of high quality which I augment with burdock and sheep sorrel and slippery elm that I hand harvest on my farm in Michigan, USA. On occasion, I also augment with other herbs that seem approriate to the occasion and in keeping with the spirit of the Native American recipe that Rene Cassie acquired.... It is a wonderful tonic. I can only speak of my experience. I come to herbal use and teachings cuturally, so I've been exposed to a lot of this stuff since early childhood. Guest guest
MJH - Thanks for you input and sharing your knowledge on the subject. I have a question you might be able to answer. Could not both bloodroot and turkey rhubarb root be put in the formula since this seems to be the crux of the disagreement (which was in the original formula)? Or do they interact adversely when used at the same time? Peggy foxhillers@... wrote: > Using the now questionably accurante formula that Glum published > that > includes the turkey rhubarb root. As I mentioned in another post, I frequently add additional herbs to the brew as seem appropriate at the time. These I forage myself and use the plant parts that are NOT toxic. Frequently, I augment with stinging nettles (green herb, flowers and seed, no roots) and dandelion (all parts: green herb, roots, flowers and seed). Works for us
Guest guest
At 242lbs on the new flex points weight watchers plan you would eat 28 points plus 5 flex per day. The flex points can be rolled over till the end of the week and then you loose them. You also get exercise points. Basically weight watchers is 50 calories per point but the points can go up if lots of fat or down for 4g or more of fiber. I do count weight watchers points and that works for me. It is up to you. I started on but hated having to only eat so much of one food group making it too ridged and then I ended up not eating enough. I then used fit day to count calories and did weight watchers at the same time to see which I preferred and ended up doing weight watcher but I can not remember why I chose it.
