Thanks Regards Mohan From: ROBERT ELLAL Sent: Sun, 30 May, 2010 Subject: Re: [ ] Leonard's breast cancer list Hi Robyn, In 1991 I was diagnosed with Stage Four lymphoma cancer of the bone. My oncologist was too good a doctor to tell me my chances--but I researched and found I probably didn't have more than six months to live; less than ten percent chance of survival. I read everything I could about how patients survived terminal illnesses--and I found that utilizing the mind/body connection was a big factor. So I got into meditation and visualization. The cancer came back three more times in the next five years; in the middle of this mess I discoverd Chinese internal energy exercises, called qigong, and trained with a master from Boston. It helped me get through two bone marrow transplants. Obviously, it's not magic, as my cancer didn't disappear overnight--I had to keep fighting. But it was a big help: it calmed my mind, controlling my fight-or-flight syndrome that floods the body with adrenal hormones that discourage healing; the deep abdominal breathing pumped more oxygen to my blood and supercharged my lymphatic system; and mostly, it empowered my will. I was doing something every day to help beat it. It was a long struggle, but I've been clear 14 years and still practicing qigong six days out of seven. If you want to know more I can send you a few articles I've written as well as the names of a book or two to get you started. Nothing is written. Best regards, Bob Ellal
Guest guest
Hi Mohan, It's always best to have a teacher, but you can learn qigong from a book. This is possible with the type I do--standing post meditation. A good book is 'The Way of Energy' by Master Lam, on Amazon. Also check out the Yang's Martial Arts Association (YMAA) site--Dr. Yang, my teacher's teacher, is a pioneer in bringing qigong to the West and has many books and DVD's. Dr. Yang has a couple of dozen branch schools around the world, but I'm not sure if he has one in Australia. His schools should be listed on the YMAA site. I've written a number of articles on my site www.bobellal.com. One good basic article is 'Abdominal Breathing--the Core of the internal energy arts. I hope things go well for you. My best advice is to hang in there--easy to say, hard to do when undergoing chemo. But qigong can help you do this. Nothing is written! Guest guest
To Mohan: Re " Dr is kind enough to grant few months life. " I am not sure what you mean by this? Please consider the Alpha Lipoic Acid + LDN treatment. But unfortunately, I don't know of any doctor, except for BURT BERKSON, who does the protocol 100% right. But Dr. Berkson has had great results with pancreatic cancer. Here is my interview with him. _http://www.honestmedicine.com/2009/03/burt-berkson-md-phd-talks-with-honest -medicine-about-his-work-and-our-medical-system-the-interview-t.html_ (http://www.honestmedicine.com/2009/03/burt-berkson-md-phd-talks-with-honest-med\ ic ine-about-his-work-and-our-medical-system-the-interview-t.html) Tell me what you think, ok? Thanks. (I am writing a book -- see below -- and so I know a lot about Dr. Burkson. He is one of the people profiled in the book.)
