Guest guest
no pain relief for me yet, so glad it worked for you zbee. did you say 900 mg, 3times a day? sorry i accid. del. your message. it is known around these here parts as turmeric (read label, should be say 95% at least of curcumin). it is an indian herb. zbee did you actually find " curcumin " or is it labeled under turmeric? it actually is only 380mg of curcumin which may be why it is not working for me (i am only taking 2 of these 3 times a day). >From: SerenaBee@... > >My name is Serena, and I posted the curcumin for pain.It took about two days >to work for me and I am going on 1 month pain free!!!It's a miracle. >Serenabee > >------------------------------------------------------------------------ >How has ONElist changed your life? >Share your story with us at >------------------------------------------------------------------------ >Please send privately messages unrelated to lyme. >/archives.cgi/ >/archives.cgi/Lyme-Docs >Email: -subscribeonelist >You may substitute " unsubscribe " , " digest " , or " normal " for >the word " subscribe " ( " normal " is the opposite of " digest " ) > > MimiAnne's Specialty Coffee (540) 980-6464 93 W. Guest guest
The Curcumin I take is 95% pure, and is 450mg per capsule.I take 2 capsules 4 times a day.The company you order it fromis Narula Research,107 Boulder bluff Trail,Chapel hill,NC 27516.I think it a superior product than what you might find in the Health food store. In the meantime take as many capsules as you after to feel some relief.I really swear by it after 4 years of intense pain everywhere, however eveyone is different.Good Luck!! Guest guest
One warning....in some people curcumin causes the squirts! lol I can't even take one capsule, so I gave it to a friend with Lyme, who was able to take it just fine. ;o) Later my doctor gave me a different product, which contained curcumin, and that did me in as well! <<<The Curcumin I take is 95% pure, and is 450mg per capsule.I take 2 capsules 4 times a day.The company you order it fromis Narula Research,107 Boulder bluff Trail,Chapel hill,NC 27516.I think it a superior product than what you might find in the Health food store. In the meantime take as many capsules as you after to feel some relief.I really swear by it after 4 years of intense pain everywhere, however eveyone is different.Good Luck!! Guest guest
Did anyone else see this post on sci.med? Subject: Re: Supplements From: Alan Buck <abuck@...> Sounds like my doc too. Said the B vitamins in particular are a favorite food of bacteria. He said anti-oxidants are not so good for two reasons, and mainly because antibiotics are oxidants and anti-oxidants may neutralize them. (This is probably oversimplified) The second is just that anti-oxidants work to nullify free radicals which may have the potential to cause mutations which could cause or lead to cancer or some other disease. In other words, they may help prevent something five years down the road, but he feels they don't have much effect on an already present infection such as Lyme. He did say that things like Ginseng, Gingko, St. s Wort are ok. Guest guest
i am reading in an arthritis book that you need to take curcumin w/either bromelain (this should be taken on empty stomach 20 min. before meals or between meals) OR provide curcumin in a lipid base such as lecithin, fish oils or essential fatty acids (take this form w/meals). the absorption of oral curcumin is in question. many turmeric capsules are packaged w/bromelian. i am now taking it w/1000 mg borage oil tablets. may be it will work! >From: SerenaBee@... >t >Dear Cheryl >I guess I have been lucky so far as to having the squirts.lol! It is about the >only thing I do not have right now as well as no pain because of the >curcumin!I really think it is a miracle. Believe or not, my new regime has made a total difference in my arthalgias. They were so bad before I didn't know when I would lose my footing even on level ground. I take my Ultra Oils in the morning and wow, no pain in the knee. My knee was so bad. One morning I didn't take it until after noon and boy did I know it. If it is an anti-oxidant and Dr. Donta does not recommend taking vitamins etc., do we NOT take curcumin? Not that I was not already confused because Burrascano says TO take vitamins. Guest guest
Hi Lea, I empathize with your confusion, I am in the same boat, everyone I know is saying take this, take that, I have had nothing but trouble everytime I tried to take vitamins or herbs, even before Lyme disease hit me. There are too darn many theories about curing Lyme, we just don't know who to believe. I guess the only thing one can do is to try minimal doses of the alternative treatments and judge for oneself. Guest guest
Hello all, I've been reading your posts re: curcumin. I was recently told of a product that was developed after a study done at UCLA. It is a " lipidated " form of curcumin which reportedly has 4X better absorption than any other form. There's a research paper on this. You may be able to get it on the website of the company that sells the product. www.phytosensia.com I just started my husband on this product, it is called Longvida. Guest guest
Attached are two documents regarding curcumin. One is specific to the formulation that resulted from a UCLA study.
