Re: DHT up, T goes down + How to Lower Prolactin

I apologize for the delay, ttwenties. Between job hunting & checking

activity in various groups, I miss a few questions here & there.

Cabergoline/Dostinex & Bromocriptine/Parlodel both have dopamine

increasing/prolactin reducing effects. From the minimal reading I've

done on the subject, it seems Bromocriptine is more potent & also more

prone to side effects (in fact, its prolactin reducing effects were

removed by the FDA in 1995 as an indication for use due to concerns of

increased risk of heart attacks, strokes, & seizures).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bromocriptine - effectiveness & risks of

Bromocriptine

http://forum.lef.org/default.aspx?f=36 & m=22339 - using Bromocriptine

for secondary hypogonadism

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabergoline

I recall some messages in the hypogonadism group about using

Bromocriptine to treat a pituitary tumor contributing his secondary

hypogonadism. Some of the messages include message #s 45381, 45386,

45392, & 45530. In the first message above, Norsworthy

mentioned a man he knows who has had success treating secondary

hypogonadism with Bromocriptine. Unfortunately, I simply don't know

enough about it to offer much help.

Testosterone Recovery Stack sounds like it can increase total

testosterone & sexual function. I was not aware that resveratrol

blocked estrogen (which one?). I don't recall if you had elevated

estradiol. The tocopherols in it ( & the claim that they elevate

testicular sensitivity to LH & FSH) remind me of studies that have

demonstrated increased testicular volume in rats taking vitamin E.

Assuming the product's extracts are accurately labeled for dosage

strength, it would be nice if it elevated you by 200 ng/dL of total

testosterone.

Cheers on finding a beautiful girlfriend. She can check out this

group if she'd like- it might help her be more understanding of your

needs.

Correction: Bromocriptine may not be more effective, as wikipedia's

page on Cabergoline/Dostinex lists it as a second line response to

prolactinomas if Bromocriptine proves ineffective. Missed that

sentence the first time.

Be careful guys. I used cabergoline/Dostinex and keep a prescription

up to date for restless legs syndrome. But, last year the dopamine

agonists - including Dostinex - were found to have a very high rate

of heart problem. But, the doses probably were higher, and so it is

hard to calculate the risk.

Bromocriptine is recommended in some anti-aging circles. I saw where it

was used in high doses to suppress lactation and caused heart problems,

but otherwise it doesn't seem to be unsafe. It's used in Parkinson's

patients.

Studies and absolute increases in heart problems are?
