Guest guest
I don't know if this is related to the Androgel or not, but I might as well ask... Since I started on it, I have had occasional cramps on the lower left side of my abdomen. The doc did a scan and found nothing, we thought it might be " sticky intestines " . This weekend, I got into a little bit of a rowe with my 17 year old and during the most heated part of the argument, every muscle in my abdomen, from the left side to the front, to the right side, all seized up at once and nearly buckled me over. I left the room and lay on my bed and spent almost 5 full minutes trying to stretch them back out again. I've never had anything like that happen before, but I should also mention that I had an umbillical hernia 18 months ago where during surgery, rather than putting a mesh ovre the area the doc actually stiched my front abs together. The other possibility is that something in the stitching is catching a nerve. But I have to wonder if cramping might also be a side effect of the androgel?? Any thoughts appreciated. Guest guest
It can be possible when I was on gels my muscles and joints started hurting Dr. never thought it was the gel this went on for about 4yrs. Got so bad I was house bound my back and legs were the worst. My Dr. gave me med for Arthritis never help. I could never get my levels up high enough on gels I was doing 10 grams. So my Dr. was giving me 200mgs shots of T to keep them up. I never put the two together but after the T shots I had relief from the pain. I even had an MRI on my back nothing showed up bad enough to do this. The first shot of Depo Testosterone I did with the gels then I stopped the gel. I started with 100mgs every week and later started doing the shot myself. On the 2nd. shot I got a lot of relief from the pain and in no time my pain was gone. I was able to start walking and later was back in the gym working out. There is another member here Norton that has the same problems. As it turns out the gels for some of us going through the skin dose not get to the joins and muscles and the areas that hurt the most were areas that were an injury at one time. The only thing you can do is try switching to shots starting at 100mgs a week and quit the gels. See if this helps it might be that the testosterone in the gels is not supporting the sugary you had and it's acting up. Guest guest
Never heard of any form of HRT causing cramps or muscle spasms. It has caused achy joints and muscles in some but not instant cramping. It is curious that the spasm happened while you were in a stressful situation. Other considerations are if you are dehydrated or in need of electrolytes. Arkansas From: klaatu1962 <randy_boback@...> Subject: Abdominal cramps?? Guest guest
I think I have to agree. I was not particularly dehydrated but it may be a mix of stress and the old surgery. It came on so fast though and I never felt anything even remotely like it! I kinda wondered if extra T would just give them more capacity to cramp. I'm gonna follow the other leads at this point.
