Guest guest
I have stage 4 breast cancer with mets to bones spine, leg, etc.. The onc wants to give me taxol and cytoxan. Says 70 % chance it will shrink tumors, not cure. He says my left leg is about ready to break and I should have a rod put in. What should I do?  Thanks, Robyn
Guest guest
Robyn, I don't think this is a good idea with the taxol, as I have been told by my doctor, chemo drugs are all most useless on bone cancer, its because the bone has a weak blood supply, and the bone cant get a high enough dose to kill it off. The cytoxan is converted in the liver to active forms of chemo that have a chemotherapeutic activity. but you still have a problem with the blood supply, getting enough chemo to the bone Ask you doctor. I think the best way is with the 30 apricot pits I ground up in a coffee grinder and mix with a glass of cold milk. I all so take zinc and the pine apple enzyme bromelain with it, as I was told it wont work with out it, if you cant get the apricot pits them pomegranate juice extract works just as well to I feel for you the pomegranate juice extrack would be the best way to go http://bedouina.typepad.com/doves_eye/2007/10/fight-breast-ca.html but if you cant get it then B17 will also work http://www.b17.com.au/copy.asp?sect=q1 & page=howdoes Ray From: robyn howell I have stage 4 breast cancer with mets to bones spine, leg, etc.. Guest guest
Hi Robyn, I also have the stage 4 breast with mets to spine & hip, had now for 5 years.. I am just finishing my 3rd round of chemo x 8 sessions per round ,and can honestly say apart from the effects of chemo been keeping fantastic.. There was only a slight change in my last scan. I also do alternative medicine B17 apricot kernels in tablet form, iscador ( mistletoe injections ) & lachesis.(snake venum ). I have probably tried most alternative medicines over the years but the only thing that seems to be keeping it at bay for me is the chemo . I also have been taking bondronat every day for the last five years which helps strengthen the bones.. Hope this info is of help and helps comfort you in some way.. God Bless Ann-Marie from Scotland. Guest guest
If your femur is susceptible to breaking then you have lytic lesions. A rod isn't a bad idea. You should be on the bisphosphonates such as pamidronate or Zometa. If it is not too late you can do a cementoplasty -- methyl methacrylate can be injected into the bone lesion. It generates cancer-killing heat as it hardens. In ten minutes you can climb off the table and walk without a worry. I don't think I would be very enthusiastic about the Taxol-Cytoxan option. >From: robyn howell > >I have stage 4 breast cancer with mets to bones spine, leg, etc.. >The onc wants to give me taxol and cytoxan. Guest guest
Ann-Marie, What kind of chemo do you take. How far apart are your chemo sessions. Have you had surgery? How sick does the chemo make you? How do you know that it is not the alternatives that are working? Guest guest
Hi Robyn, a.. Two types of chemo I am doing are Taxotere & Zelolda... One intrevenously & the other orally.. I have the intrevenous every 3 weeks followed by 2 weeks oral.. This is my 3rd time round with the chemo in five years. Totally disagree with the chap who says chemo does not have any effect on bone cancer, as I have seen significant changes in my scans over the last 5 years, even improvement.. My body has coped very well with the chemo not been too bad at all. Overall probably the worse part for me is the metalic taste and upset stomaches. Guest guest
Absolutely!!!!! In its natural form, it helps with all of your side effects like appetite, pain, sleep, nausea. In its extracted form (Phoenix Tears Oil), it has been known to reverse cachexia, insomnia, drop tumor markers (me), lower high blood pressure, lower high blood sugar, totally change a fibromyalgia patient's life (people I know personally), and according to the guy who developed it, Rick Simpson, it cures most cancers. Go to www.phoenixtears.ca and watch the movie, Run From the Cure. Fascinating ... It's only hard to get where it's illegal, and that's only because of its illegality there. Rest assured, however, that it is VERY available, regardless. xoo robyn howell wrote: > > Do you know anyone in my situation that it has helped? It seems hard to get. How much does it cost?
