Job openings in the Access, Care and Treatment (ACT ) program in Tamil Nadu

networking people with HIV/AIDS (TNNP+).

The Tamil Nadu Networking with people living with HIV/AIDS (TNNP+) is a

membership network of people living with HIV/AIDS involved in empowering and

improving the quality of life of all PLHA in Tamil Nadu. On February 2005, TNNP+

set up the state Secretariat at Madurai with the help of INP+ [indian network

of positive people] providing them with fund for the implementation of the Act

project, called ACCESS, CARE And TREATMENT(ACT), with support from the global

fund consortium . Presently there are *30* districts covered

under this project.

There are two vacancy in the Act project of Tamil Nadu and there are :

*Treatment education officer (TEO) 1*

*Eligibility:** *

Should be a PLHA with 2 years of experience in the field of HIV/AIDS

services with enough knowledge in the HIV/AIDS .Also should posses a B.A. degree

and have thorough knowledge in English and posses computer skills.

Should be a post graduate in social work (MSW) with 3 years of experience in the

field of HIV/AIDS services with enough knowledge in the HIV/AIDS .Also should

have thorough knowledge in English and posses computer skills.

Should be an expert in proposal writing, documentation etc…

Coordinator – Insurance.*

Duties and Responsibilities:

*Collaboration with various Networks/NGOs/Care and Support Organizations across

the State*

- Identify and initiate dialogue with networks of positive people, NGOs, care

and support organizations, ART centers and other bodies involve in working for

PLHIV and their families.

- Initiate & finalize scope of work, key deliverables etc with these

organizations/Networks

Mobilization of groups for Insurance *

Orient coordinator members of State and district networks on needs

and benefits of Insurance**

Orient coordinator members of state and district networks on the

operations of Insurance like Process of claiming, cashless hospitalisation and

reimbursement processes.

Coordinate with the state and district level networks for

mobilizing PLHIV for health Insurance

Coordinate distribution and collection of consent forms to all

members in the districts.

Coordinate/facilitate the enrollment process to all the members of

Networks for mobilizing Insurance this includes distribution and collection of

filled in enrolment forms along with photographs

Monitor & coordination with the State & district Networks for

ensuring that the Premium collection is on time and also documenting the same

Support the state /district networks in identifying the ART

centre’s at district level for CD4 test count for all members. This involves

collection of samples (for CD4) and also reporting to Insurance team

Any other specific task as identified with regard to mobilization

support.

Support District network in identifying hospitals for empanelment

for treatment of PLHIV

Provide inputs for documenting the Pilot process*

Process documentation of consent forms/CD4 reports/Premium

collection and Enrollment.

Support Insurance team for Process documentation of the states of

the pilot (process of mobilization, challenges faced during mobilization, gaps,

concerns, achievements, lessons learnt on field etc.)

Key Deliverables

Mobilize & enroll 3000 PLHIV from respective State of

Tamilnadufor health insurance policy by September 2009

Desired Profile

Should be a post graduate in social work (MSW) with 3 years of

experience in the field of HIV/AIDS services with enough knowledge in the

HIV/AIDS.

Knowledge of the insurance sector & PLHIV required

Basic understanding of HIV/AIDS in the country

required

Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English as

well as local language)

Excellent public speaking skills

Strong analytical skills and ability to report and document.
