Hello everyone

I am a PhD student at the s Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health,

Baltimore, USA. Could the readers of this forum help me with information for a

class project I am doing? It is on a cost analysis of the Maharashtra state

government plan to conduct HIV testing and counselling in 4 central prisons in

the state.

I'd be grateful to get any information on the items below. Thank you in advance

and apologies for the long list of question!

Questions :

1. The budget for the testing

2. The agency responsible for testing

3. The model being followed – is testing preceded and followed by counselling?

4. The time period for the testing

5. The HIV test kits( oral test/ELISA etc) being used and their cost

6. Number of personnel employed and their salary

7. Miscellaneous costs- supplies such as syringes, cotton etc

8. What treatment is being offered to those that test positive and the cost of

that?

I am also curious to know if any of the readers of this forum may be willing to

share information on the current policy regarding health care for prisoners.

Best

Nidhi
