Guest guest
Here are my labs prior to any TRT on 6/20/08. All labs were done at LabCorp. Total T 276 ng/dl Free 7.2 pg/ml PSA .5 TSH 1.503 My doc started 5g Androgel. Here are my labs 4 weeks later. Total T 176 Free T 4.0 2 weeks later Total T 116 Free T 3.0 My doc raised me to 10g Androgel 4 weeks later Total T 124 Free T 3.1 My E2 levels were checked here too. They were 23. I don't believe that " sensitive assay for males " was requested so can anything be gained by that or is that number useless. My doc sent me to urologist who switched me to Testim because he said he sometimes sees better absorption. At that time he also (reluctantly) said I could have FSH, LH, and Prolactin tested. Here are those results. FSH <.3 LH <.3 Prolactin 4.9 I have already been informed by others that having these tests done after starting TRT is not proper, but I can't unring the bell. That being said, can I gain any good information from those numbers or are they useless? I have had an MRI on my pituitary last week and the results said all was good there. My Cortisol was checked: am 6.6 ug/dl pm 7.5 ug/dl My TSH is 1.626 uIU/ml Does anyone have any words of wisdom that can help me. I read and read and and although I am a pretty wise man, I really just become more confused as to what I should be doing, I know everyone is different blah blah blah, but aren't there some straightforward protocols for treatment. There appear to be a finite number of medicines and a finite number of causes for hypogonadism, but an infinite number of treatments. I am going to an endo today and will have more blood results back prior to seeing her. What should I ask for from the endo?
