Guest guest
Hi, The dosage of only 800 mg is a common problem according to my endocrinologist with decades of experience. Dr. Gambrell, now deceased, used this formula. Subtract 30 pounds from the total weight of the patient and for every remaining 10 pounds he should receive a 75 mg pellet. For me at 240 pounds he gave me his max amount of 20 pellets or 1500 mg total. This dosage allows the patient to have a better than 800 T level which in essence was what he experienced in his teens. It is this high level that lets the patient feel the benefit of TRT. " The duration of the pellet was determined by the patient who felt the return of the symptoms. " For continuing TRT therapy this should not happen according to Dr. Gambrell. There is nothing to be gained for the patient to have his T level drop out of the enjoyable range and then have to swing back up again. It was pointed out to me by the doctor that too much T even over 1000 is not harmful as teens frequently run that high and some blood conditions can be treated with high T as well. I forget the other conditions where high T dosages are in order. Yes an annual PSA test is essential to avoid possibly feeding a prostate cancer. The use of a trocar to insert the pellets well away from the incision still seems the best. I have received another set of pellets every 4 months and feel great at 76. ernestnolan > > What wandering the internet, I ran into this study that could be of > interest and a second study noted below and also a FAQ on pellets. > > Testosterone release rate and duration of action of testosterone pellet > implants > http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1365-2265.2004.01994.x?cookie\ Set=1 & journalCode=cen > > " CONCLUSION: Testosterone pellet implants release testosterone at a > steady rate of 1·3 mg/200 mg implant/day (95% CI). Guest guest
Great slide show. Very informative for those looking for information. I felt there was an error. It was mentioned that only those women that are pre-menopausal should take progesterone monthly. The wife had to take progesterone until she had her hysterectomy. Many women want to stop their periods but Dr. Gambrell felt it was unhealthy not to continue the periods as long as there was a uterus involved. ernestnolan > > What wandering the internet, I ran into this study that could be of > interest and a second study noted below and also a FAQ on pellets. > > Testosterone release rate and duration of action of testosterone pellet > implants > http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1365-2265.2004.01994.x?cookie\ Set=1 & journalCode=cen > > " CONCLUSION: Testosterone pellet implants release testosterone at a > steady rate of 1·3 mg/200 mg implant/day (95% CI).
