Guest guest
and Kim, My heart goes out to you! The good news is that 2a responds very well to treatment and since Kim has a low viral load is also good news. If I am not mistaken the treatment regime may only be six months for 2a. Find a good liver doctor...perhaps there's a gastroenterological clinic near you. The treatment can be hellish, but some do better than others. Hang in there, jay
Guest guest
Jay, Thanks for the reply. The doctor we are going to see is at a gastroenterological clinic. He is suppose to be a good one. We'll see. Do you know anyone who has tried other types of treatment. We've read horror stories about interferon treatment and that it can be very debilitating. Kim is freaking out on this treatment. She is looking for alternative treatments. and Kim > and Kim, > > My heart goes out to you! Guest guest
and Kim, my name is . I was also freaking out but this group held me together. I just took my 6th shot this last Sunday and I take 4 Ribavirin pills daily. For me the sides aren't to bad at all. I take anti-nausa meds and that helps a lot!! I get a bit weak at times but still have an active life. Take care- you'll make it.
Guest guest
, Thank you for the reply. Do you have a job? Kim is afraid that she won't be able to work if she starts interferon and would lose her insurance. We've heard some pretty bad reports about this. You say you still have an active life, how active is active. Not trying to pry, just overall? Kim is going to have to learn how to use the internet . I don't like typing a lot. No, I would do anything for her. I'm so glad I found this forum for her. She needs to hear from people like you. She's really bummed over this. Hope your treatment continues to go well. Stay in touch. You'll see us on this site a lot now. Thank you again for replying. and Kim > and Kim, my name is . I was also freaking out but this > group held me together. Guest guest
and Kim, no I don't work but if I did I probably still could. It depends on what the job would be of course. I'm active as far as going shopping which I'm getting ready to do. I still have a very good appetite. Every one is different. I had to take the chance on treatment and I made a vow if I couldn't handle tx then I'd quit, but so far so good.

You say > you still have an active life, how active is active. I know this was not directed at me, but I will be taking my 12th shot this Friday and I am a CPA. This is my busiest time of year as I specialize in income taxes. I am working long hours and hanging in there. It is not always easy as I get very tired sometimes. But I take breaks and do the best I can. Everyone reacts differently to the meds, so Kim could have any easy time. I think it would be better to go into it with a positive attitude. Guest guest
, That's good to hear. Kim will be glad to hear also. I'm at work so she won't see any of this till tonight. I'm so glad your doing well. I think a positive outlook helps also. I've got to keep her mind busy so she won't spend so much time thinking about this. Thanks again and Kim
Guest guest
I'm 3a. Oh I also wanted to ask if anybody has this side effect. My eyelids are very very tender since starting tx,
Guest guest
Mike, The treatment can be bad, but some people tolerate the sides fairly well. At worst, it is like having an extremely bad flu. Use your computer to search Google at www.google.com for information on this illness and its treatment. The better informed you are, the better it will go. There are no other alternative treatments. They have had some success in Europe treating some Hep patients with herbal treatments, but since Kim has the 2b, she will only have to get treated for 24 weeks. jay

Doesn't match my kitchen, but who cares? I put my food on the plate and put it in my toater oven on broil. It gets it piping hot in about 5 minutes. I'm sure it would work the same in a regular oven. Just make sure to put the plate on the top rack. Hope this helps. Ahhh...imagining that irresistible "new car" smell? Check out new cars at Autos. Guest guest
Hi all !!! I have another good idea that I either read on here ... or SOMEWHERE. Put your food on a microwaveable or oven proof plate, and set it on top of a pot of boiling water. Put a lid over it and the steam steams the food and keeps it moist!!! It's like you just cooked it!! The microwave is quicker, but this only takes a couple of minutes. If you're finding it difficult to get away from the microwave, keep reading about all the nasty things it does to your food! I haven't used mine in a week and 2 days. Started Phase 1 that long ago (week and 2 days) and have lost 9 lbs so far. Not really thrilled about this cuz according to KT, it's not the nasty fat I'm losing, it's the necessary fat that your body needs. Right?travelingiris <RainbowNScooby2@...> wrote: Hi everyone! Guest guest
Well, thanks! That feels good to be recognized for a loss. I can't remember the last time I was under 230 lbs!!! I am taking 6 (2 each meal) Living Multi Optimal Womens vitamins (purchased at The Vitamin Shope), the Threelac Candida cleanse (1-2 each day), 2 Krill Oil per day, Fiber Smart (not very tasty) and Original Cleanse Smart (2 in the a.m. and 2 in the p.m.). I purchased Coral Calcium and add that to my water daily, and drink Wu Long Tea (iced as I don't care for hot tea). I've also been eating nothing but organic food during this time and am trying to use Raw Organic Apple Cider Vinegar on my salad, but I realllllly don't like vinegar in any way, shape or form!! I LOVE olive oil on my salad, but I'm trying to force myself to endure the vinegar! Oh ... I did purchase raw coconut oil and it's delicious!! I pan fry my fish in it and put it in a pan when I broil my chicken! I probably shouldn't say this but I've consumed 2 pkgs of Newman's cookies in the past week and a half!!! Hey ... they're organic! LOL I really hope this Candida cleanse works as far as taking away my cravings for carbs & sweets!!! Obviously I NEED IT!!! It's pretty expensive to obtain all the necessary items needed for Phase 1, but I'm slowly accumulating my "stash"! I'd like to do the colonics, but they're $85 per session!!! And KT recommends 15 during Phase 1?? That's 1 every other day!!! Whew! Ya think he'll finance that for me? LOL I have an appointment with Transformations up in Melbourne, FL on the 29th of this month for my first try at hCG! I can't wait!!! I hope I'm doing enough to get my body ready to drop some of this extra tonnage!!! My goal is 170 lbs. I'm 5'10" and 48 yrs old. I wanna look like I did in my 30's!!! Keep your fingers crossed and pray for me! I'll do the same for you! Take care and thanks for your compliment! DebbieBernie <BernieBear@...> wrote: 9lbs is 9lbs!!! Way to go! Guest guest
LOL. I can't stop laughing about you consuming two packages from Newmans cookies. Don't feel bad cause i've done the same thing. I lost 12 pound the first couple of weeks then gained 2 and now I haven't lost a dang thing!!! I wonder if it's because I haven't done a cleanse yet? Anyway, I just bought a 10 day cleanse. After I finish the cleanse I am starting the phase 2 diet. I've already received HCG from drugdelivery.ca and it's sitting there. I'm kind of afraid injecting myself and also nervous bout mixing it myself......I guess those are normal fears? joe
Guest guest
Go Joe, you can't do it. The injections are so easy " a caveman can do it " . You'll see, I used to be the most chicken, needlephobic person - EVER! I started injections on Friday and , very easy and pain free! You'll see! Goodluck! Guest guest
I am so proud of you. It takes a giant leap to make that statement about your health to throw your microwave away. Mine is on the way to the dump as well. CONGRADULATIONS!!!!! Jodie > >> Hi everyone! I recognize several names from the NC site. This is so > >> much faster and easier to use. Guest guest
Thanks Jodie, I feel really good about it. Hey we have lived for eons without one. Technology is not ALWAYS better!!! I shall not miss it. The only think I ever did was make pop corn, reheat left overs, or nuke my cold coffee..... Plus , I have more counter space in my n (small) kitchen!!! Guest guest
Hi everyone, I was just diagnosed with tertiary hypogonadism after the results came back from an LHRH test I had recently and was directed to this sight by someone from the Propecia forum, I was taking this poison for 6 years. To make a long story short my endo prescribed Testosterone although refuses to place me on Hcg upon my recommendation as he feels it's too risky. I tried Clomid once at 25 mg although unfortunately I got up in the middle of the night with a heart flutter I'd never experienced before so chose to discontinue its use. My endo has referred me to another specialist at Mt. Sinai in Toronto that apparently deals with all modalities of treatments which will be in another month or so. Anyway I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice with regards to the most favourable approach in treating this condition. I've done some research on Hcg and it appears that it's not too risky, I do like the fact that it prevents testicular atrophy as well as possibly not rasing E2 as much as T therapy. My most recent blood test results are below, thanks. Guest guest
Thanks for the information Joan :-)) I had my last surgery about 6 months a go and did have smell for a month or so after. The only other times I ever have any smell at all is after a steroid dose pack. But of course it's fleeting ;-( I will ask my ENT about this process. Thanks again!! > > > Hello fellow sufferers!! > > > > I am 41 years old and was first diagnosed in 1994 with this condition. Guest guest
Regarding the rate of regrowth, my experience has been that they return faster every time. It was 7 years between my first surgery and my second, 3 years between my second and my third, and I'm pretty sure I have some regrowth already after a year and a half. Looking into aspirin desense. Good luck to you - there are no easy choices with this. From: JudyZ <judy.zollner@...>To: samters Sent: Tue, January 4, 2011 8:33:46 AMSubject: Re: New to this forum I am also debating going ahead with desensitization.... I had one surgery 14 years ago and aside from loss of smell immediately after the surgery really didn't have many symptoms until around a year ago. The polyps were in my nasal passages at that point so I just had my 2nd surgery in November. I regained some sense of smell but like others have warned I "enjoyed it while it lasted" since it is not so strong now and I'm afraid it will be gone soon. If my polyps take so long to grow and I wouldn't need another surgery in say another 10 years, I am debating the merits of the aspirin desensitization. My asthma has pretty much been under control--my complaints that lead to the second surgery were basically annoyances (runny nose, watery eyes). Of course if I knew my sense of smell would stay after aspirin desense that would be an incentive, but it seems like that is not a guarantee either. My ENT refers to Scripps in San Diego which is quite a journey from my home in Chicagoland so the aspirin desense is quite an undertaking, not to mention my concern about taking aspirin every day going forward. Does anyone have any info on the rate of polyp growth? Is it possible that between 1994 and 2010 my polyps were growing at a slow rate but now they will grow much faster? I see that many have needed surgery within a couple years after having a surgery done. Is this common later in life--do they grow faster once we hit our 40s? Thanks in advance for any info.
