Guest guest
Hi, An endocrinologist specializing in helping couples with their fertility problems should be adequately trained in hormone therapy for men. When a doctor admits he doesn't know enough to treat you properly, he is being very honest and some worried you will take some leagal action against him for malpractice possibly. Time to get a specialist he should be able to recommend. Frequently these specialists are very rare and you may have to take a day trip to reach one. I have traveled over 400 miles for treatment every 4 months for a decade with hormone pellet therapy. ernestnolan > > I usually go by Meccorad from the Real Thyroid Help forums and I > decided to search for some help/support for hypogonadism. > > I'm currently seeing my Endo for my hypothyroid, and he's also > treating my new-found hypogonadism. Guest guest
Well actually, I'm only 21, single. I have hypothyroidism and when I found the thyroid support site they suggested to get all these tests that males with hypothyroid should get done. Then low and behold all my sex hormones are abnormally low, basically what you would expect for an 80 year old male, not a 21 year old. So I found myself a new Endo, but he doesn't know enough about testosterone and the like. He tried me on 5g Androgel, then 10g Androgel, and now he's got me on Injections. I think I need to find a doctor that specializes in male hormones or something. Anyone here know what I'm talking about? > > > > I usually go by Meccorad from the Real Thyroid Help forums and I > > decided to search for some help/support for hypogonadism. > > > > I'm currently seeing my Endo for my hypothyroid, and he's also > > treating my new-found hypogonadism. Guest guest
Yes I do know what you are talking about. I am 84 and have had a lot of experience in horomone therapy. I have been on shots now for over 25 years, couldn't do without them. From experience I know that a good GP is better than most any of the Endo's are, they don't know how to treat hypogonadism in men of any age. My readings were so low the first time I took them that the doc. put me on shots from the start and I have never been sorry. It took me a couple of years to get my testosterone and Arimidex to balance but finally did. I take 1/4 of a Arimidex ever 8 days and that fits me perfectly. The last three blood test came back with flying colors. You need to be on Arimidex to keep your Estradiol in check otherwise it will run wild and you won't be any better off. You are very young to be having these problems so early. I don't even take 100 ml like so many of the guys do but around .75 ml per week. I hope some of this helps you, that is what we are here for, each other. Roy From: luftherz <luftherz@...> Subject: Re: Who should I go to for hormone help? Guest guest
Hi, You are in an out of the ordinary catagory. A specialist is absolutely required. You will have to do the searching and leg work probably to get to the Mayo Clinic or something much farther out of town than you had anticipated. Your normal life is in the balance. You need to get to a college library ad read everything you can on this subject. Medical journals are also available thru college libraries and articles are authored by these specialists. My doctor has a tutorial of sorts on his web site and he is easy to talk to via e-mail. If you don't hear back let me know and I will see if he got your note. He prvides me hormone pellets which last 4 months between visits. http://Natrajan.on-theweb.com GOOGLE has not found him yet. ernestnolan > > > > > > I usually go by Meccorad from the Real Thyroid Help forums and I > > > decided to search for some help/support for hypogonadism. > > > > > > I'm currently seeing my Endo for my hypothyroid, and he's also > > > treating my new-found hypogonadism.
