Guest guest
Dear forum members, Death counseling is highly sensitive issue, which not much developed in our country. As per my knowledge One Health Care Provider named Dr Mothi from Mysore is doing the same in a diplomatic way. I wish to get the experience from Dr. Mothi and team through forum and also wish forum members to stretch the discussion so that we all can replicate the model. -- Arun Menon. Guest guest
Dear FORUM, There are two lessons that AIDS teaches us, which I cherish a lot... the first is about the need to be comfortable with our sexuality. The second is about being comfortable with our death. The second lesson is more relevant to this conversation. Discomfort with these two essential aspects of life has renders awareness about HIV and AIDS ineffective. Therefore, There is a need to prepare every human being to face death since, with or without HIV, it is a painful experience. Are persons living with HIV any better qualified to address this than others? The answer to both these questions is NO, since death is a common human experience. This being universal truth, Statements such as " Only an affected person can understand another affected person better...They know the same fate awaits us " only promote disrcimination against persons living with HIV. We need to mainstream our thinking on this issue. -- Sundar E-MAIL: <dheenabandhu@...>
Guest guest
Dear Forum Re: /message/10558 This may be an another reminder to all of us working in Orissa that media needs to be sensitized. Friends, I am in doubt about the words of Mr. Ajay Patra (whether he said exactly like this or something else): I know Mr. Ajay Patra since more than one and half year. I am in doubt of a person having experience in the field of HIV and giving negative statements like " they know the same fate awaits us " . My learned friend might aware that one can suspect about the mode of transmission and no one can be sure about that and saying " contracted the disease through infected syringe " . I request my friend to open his mighty sword and respond this article " if he has not spoken exactly " . Or else give justifications about the statements. Special thanks to Johonson to post the messages relavant to Orissa. In solidarity K. Santosh Kumar kumarpositive@... santoshkumar@...
