Guest guest
I love the Citrus Cooler flavor Gatorade, especially when it is ice cold, so I bought a fairly cheap snow cone/ice shaver at Bed, Bath, and Beyond for $12, put the Citrus Cooler into the freezing cups, froze them and then shaved the Gatorade Ice and it was delicious!!! DeViney 3/29/2001 - Dr. R. 279/256 To Rhonda re: Gatorade Hi Rhonda, I haven't tried the Riptide Rush, but will do that. Have you had the Passion Fruit Gatorade? It is yummy, and by far, my favorite. It's the pink one. Give it a try and let me know what you think. I'd like to find the dry mix in the Passion Fruit, but haven't come across any yet. Hugs, in OK MGB 3/29/01 Dr. R 1 Month Post-Op and down 32 glorious pounds! Thanks, I read the label and found it has instant tea in it. I thought maybe it didn't actually have tea in it. I will stick to the Crystal Light Lemonade and my Gatorade. It is hard to believe I actually crave Gatorade now at times. I am really starting to acquire a taste for it. Never thought that would happen. I couldn't hardly stand it when I first had surgery. I love the Riptide Rush. I have almost drank a 64 oz. container of it today. I've been cleaning so I have been drinking a lot. Better get ready to go eat. This is date night for my husband and me. Every Saturday night. Guest guest
i avoid gatorade-type drinks...am kind of grossed out by the idea of all those empty calories, can't deal with the sugar, and don't want to train my body to take it! on rare occasion, i will drink a few swigs if i have been doing something very strenuous, like working in the yard in the hot sun. normally, i drink mostly water, but sometimes will have crystal light, plus i do two protein shakes a day (mixed with water) and a little OJ with my citrucel 2x a day. personally, i find it easier and healthier to ensure i am getting the liquid and elctrolytes i need through lots of water, fruits and vegetables and appropriate supplements, rather than sugar water with artificial flavorings and coloring, with some salt and potassium thrown in, which is what i think gatorade basically is! i do think it would be better watered down, though. anna Message: 12 Date: Tue, 10 Jul 2001 14:12:11 -0000 From: " Manda " <eskieluvr@...> Subject: Gatorade My trainer suggested watering down my gatorade before drinking it. Guest guest
I also drink Gatorade all the time without any problems. I am actually still in awe of the fact that I thought Gatorade was awful before surgery and for a while after surgery I still had problems with it and had to water it down. Now......I actually crave it. It taste so good to me now. I mix my citrucel with it and take my meds with it every morning and evening. I was one of the people that used to whine about taking the citrucel. I couldn't find any way of getting it down. I posted about it several times. People kept giving me suggestions on how to take it and I just kept trying the suggestions until I found one that worked for me. Now its nothing to take my citrucel.......don't know how I got off of the little tangent. I guess it started with talking about Gatorade. Anyway that is my take on it. Guest guest
I just wanted to clear something up in my original post. I never said I had a problem with gatorade, or that anyone else did. My trainer advises everyone to water it down if it is being drunk because of the grams of sugar and the empty calories. I never even implied that anyone was having a problem with gatorade, or at least I didn't mean to. Manda > I've never had a problem with gatorade and that my main liquid intake now > days. I usually have it with ice and it does get watered down. I drink a lot of water too. HUGS in ark
Guest guest
I have also discovered that if I don't make it a point to drink something throughout the day I end up with a bladder infection. The time I really WANT to drink is right after I eat. I found out real quick that I can not do that - so I have to remember to drink at other times. Guest guest
I think you are right about Gaterade being mostly sugar water with a little salt and potassium. I prefer water and taking potassium supplements. I do, however, prefer filtered water as tap water tastes bad to me. Filtered water with crushed Ice is a must for me. My refreg has a filter so I can get this easily. Whatever it takes to get the required fluids. I think we need more fluids than ordinary people. One reason is that the Citrucel pulls more water into the colon and takes it from the rest of the body. If we don't drink enough it leads to dehydration. Guest guest
- Yeah, I know exactly the taste/feeling you're talking about after drinking Gatorade! I always feel the need to drink water or cranberry juice to cleanse my mouth out - and I have sort of a " yucky " feeling in my stomach! I'm glad to know others experience that same as I do. I hate Gatorade!!! J. in Seattle

Guest guest
: I don't drink gatorade. I haven't heard from yu lately. We just returned from Cary, N.C. Mickey worked there for 3 weeks and may have to go back for a few days from time to time. His project is to last about 1 year. Mickey and I went on another cruise and had a blast. We thought about you while we were there. We were not as lucky as . I broke even in the casino and maybe made a few dollars but not more than $30.00 Mickey lost more than I did but we still came out ahead. How is the work on your house coming along? Kim and I need to come and check it out. By the way have you heard from is. We were tallking about her dropping out of site. Hope she is doing well. Are you still loosing weight? I am stuck at about 130#- - I will accept that if I don't loose any more but would just like to know if I am thru so I can make plans for Plastic surgery. Guest guest
you skinny little thing you. 136 pounds? I can't stand it! You must look gorgeous. I did get that feeling from Gatorade. The only flavor I could drink was the blue raspberry flavor heavily watered down. Then I found passion fruit, watered it down. Now I can drink it without watering it down. Lemonade? Lemonade gives me actual pain enough to make me double over! Don't understand why but my drinking is limited to water, orange juice (but only sometimes, sometimes it bothers me) and passion fruit Gatorade. By the way, I'm in land. Ed needs surgery so I had to load him in the van and drive home. Sorry I didn't get to see you this trip either. Maybe next winter! Say hi to for me please. Not really reflux, but a nasty feeling in my throat! Almost like reflux, but there isn't any acid and tums won't ease it. It is always after drinking gatorade. just curious! She told me that you don't drink Gatorade anymore. Its my understanding that we are suppose to drink it for life. If that has changed I would like to know what we can eat and drink instead of Gatorade. And if so, why has there not been some kind of posting to let all of us know that this has change because Gatorade is not cheap and dentists appt, are not cheap . Guest guest
Don't forget about banannas..... Mikee I don't know anyone that drinks Gatorade for life. We all get tired of it after a while. I still drink some but not every day. I know by the way I feel when my potassium gets low, so I will get some then. I drink lemonade, Crystal Light, juice, kool-aid, propel, chocolate milk, drinks, sunny delight, etc. There is a lot of fluids out there to chose from. Guest guest
I also believe that Gatorade is to keep you hydrated as well. So the 60 oz or so per day is your hydration. Whereas water will flush our systems of the nutrients (salt and K+) that we need. It has less sugar than OJ. As long as you have enough fluids and cover all the nutrient bases That is my understanding of the Gatorade. Debbie
