Guest guest
Hi all, It is my understanding that Gatorade does NOT spike insulin levels. So many of my wls friends say they wouldn't touch it because it would make them dump. It can't make you dump, Dr. R wouldn't give it to us if there was a risk of that happening. We get it right away after surgery. Cheryl Iowa 9/20/02 225/138 - 142 Size 4/6 P.S. I had a girl in my wls support group who dumped on a sucker! And it was a severe dumping! She passed out! Guest guest
There is a new Gatorade flavor out called RAIN. It is great and not too sweet. Guest guest
Regina, I haven't had any Gatorade in well over a year. It was causing me to retain water, and after talking to Dr. Walsh, I discontinued it. We're all different...some people need the extra sodium well after the surgery. I get a lot (probably TOO MUCH) sodium in my daily diet, and that combined with very good hydration, and faithfully taking my vitamins and minerals seems to hold me well. My recent labwork was perfect, so I think I am getting what I need for the time being. I wouldn't discontinue it without discussing it with your surgeon, but you may find that you can do without it at this point. Joanie 5/25/04 Drs. I am 5 months out and I am drinking 3 things. tomato juice, crystal lite, and the " smart water " . it has the electrolites we need. I hope this helps you. Guest guest
Hi. I hardly ever drink Gatorade. Almost never, in fact. I hydrate with other stuff. Now that I eat more I just don't want to spend the calories on Gatorade. You'd do well to get off the coffee, though, especially if you drink it every day. It's about ulcers and stomach cancer more than anything else. Dr R has posted a few things about this lately. Good luck with WW. Others have been very successful. Couldn't read your email address so posted this to the board. nptexas 8/10/04 237/146 > > Does everyone still drink the Gatorade recommended everyday? Guest guest
Greetings, Sorry for the cross posting, but I am desperate for an option. I dislike Gatorade, Sam's Club sports drink has disappeared from the market, and the heat is full blast. Are there any healthy options for when water won't quench a thirst? When I was younger, we took salt tablets, but those no longer exist, either. I would love an option without the sugar and artificial junk. Is there an electrolyte out there without all that? -- Bright Blessings, Garth & Kim www.TheRoseColoredForest.com Bedias, Texas
Guest guest
Get some unrefined salt like Celtic (contains over 80 minerals www.celticsalt.com ) and add it to OJ. I love it!
