Guest guest
Dear FORUM, The question that you have raised is do you support the court's decision to legalize homosexuality? While different people have given their responses to that question and their reasons for the same, I think the heart of the matter is this: Gays have been considered criminals by Indian society. That is blatantly unfair. The court has just corrected a huge injustice...no human being should be deemed a criminal because of his/her sexual preference. People like Ramdev Baba have been saying that homosexuality is a disease. No doubt this is a grossly unscientific statement. But even if one were to go by his argument, does having a disease make one a criminal? So, in that case, every person who suffers from heart disease, cancer or alzhiemer's disease should be declared a criminal! Does that make sense? Guest guest
Dear FORUM, /message/10491 The debate shall be unending if one justifies his/her position. The court is correct if you consider homosexuals are criminals. We commit a mistake if persons are treated as criminals. But, what is debated here is the act of homosexuality that was considered criminal when it came to the question of its benefits to the society. In living beings not all are sexually heterogenous. When there are heterosexual beings, there is a purpose for this and how come the homosexuality among the hetrosexual beings are justified? Has there been a purpose? Has there been a utility? Has there been completeness? But, there are creatures who tend to be homosexuals and let them be . Just by acknowledging the fact, one need not be perturbed or feel agitated. Let the homosexuals prove how they can be beneficial to their generations; let them justify their sexual activiteis in sustaining the human kind. Everyone knows just by fighting for rights one cannot achieve anything. It is only through holding responsibilities one can contribute. Let the homosexuals prove their responsibilities by being so for which they are destined to. B Ragupathy e-mail: <ragupathy@...>
