Hi Steve,

I've only been on TRT for a couple months, but I was anemic

before I started. Lately, I have iron levels too low to give blood.

Yeah, they were chasing after me with one of those roto-

rooter cameras, but I told them that I gave a lot of blood

so I got a reprieve.

The real culprit was B12 being way too low. I'm taking B12

shots, and sublingual B12/Folate/B6 to try and get that

sorted out. Seeing the doc today, and having more blood

tests. I'll post with the results and see if the B supplementation

cleared it up.

Oh, I also had very low levels of T. 222 L (225-1200) I think

that low T can actually contribute to anemia as well.

Hi Steve,

When I first got sick with fatigue a Dr. told me I was suffering from Anemia put

me on some strong Iron pills. After 6 months and my levels were not coming up

fast enough he talked about Iron shots. My mother told me these are dangerous

so I seen a blood Dr. I was told he was one of the best around. When I seen

him his English was very bad and I could not understand most of what he said.

He had me do more labs but did not tell me to stop the Iron pills for a week

first. So when I seen him next he told me my iron levels were fine.

Now 25 yrs later having a thyroid problem and not doing well on meds I was told

at a forum to have my Ferritin levels tested and they came back below normal.

So my Dr. tested my Iron levels and they were also on the low side. Your lucky

your Dr. was good enough to catch this mine miss this for yrs.

At the time I was still having bad fatigue and in the last 5 yrs my breathing

was getting very bad. I also had bad heart burn and reflux. I was on meds for

the breathing and reflux I started on Iron pills doing 212mgs of Elemental Iron

taking 1 pill 2x's a day of this.

In about 2 months I no longer needed the meds for breathing and reflux. My

energy went way up and I am feeling much better. Still my levels are not up

where they need to be after 8 months of Iron pills.

I posted about this hear and at other sites and some of the men on TRT had there

Ferritin and Iron levels tested and found they were also low.

I can't say this has something to do with low T I have a pituitary problem and

my Dr. is telling me I will need to be on iron pills and keep up labs on this

for life. I am not bleeding anywhere did all them tests.

Hi - I have been on TRT for about 3 months now. My low testosterone numbers were

discovered when I went to the urologist to talk about my sexual dyfunction. I

have been using one of the three ED medications since the middle 90s. Then last

there began mood change and then In the Fall I was having trouble getting it up

even with the ED medications. Went to the urologist, discussed my problem and he

suggested a blood test. It came back low and he suggested I use Testim gel 1%.

Now it is 3 months later and my libido is seems to be improving. At least I get

wood in the morning again.  I also noticed that the fat around my middle has

begun to disappear. Is there any one out there that also uses this stuff and was

wondering what other changes I can expect.

I feel everyone needs or should start out do the gels they are very good if they

work for you. One thing you need to get your Total and Free Testosterone levels

up into the upper 1/3 of your labs range for a young man. And you need to test

Estradiol and keep it down around 20 pg/ml doing this is the best way to treat

this. Some men don't do good on gels it does not get through there skin and

they can't get good levels. After your levels get up there your body will start

to undo any damage done by low T and little by little you will feel better.

Here is a good link to read.
