Guest guest
Hi everybody! There are more than 400 children infected and affected by HIV and AIDS in Churachanpur District (in Manipur). They are left with limited health care and social support. Since the state machinery, the State AIDS CONTROL SOCIETY IS IN DOLDRUM and most existing NGOs are insufficient, the fastest growing tribal towns in the north east part of India is fast catching up the spread of HIV and AIDS due to lack of preventive measures or care and support for the infected and affected persons, the PLHAs. I am now working as a counselor for a CBO voluteering for the sake of the substance abusers and the PLHA in this town at the same time feelancing for their cause. Seeing the living conditions of the children and the single parents, lack of medical facilities (except the MSF) is not a sight to behold. I would like to invite international agencies to work with the local Youth Clubs for especially a primary intervention program on HIV/AIDS or some kind of care and support for the PLHAs. Let the youth knows their potential and responsibilities for the welfare of the society by engaging themselves in some useful sexual health issues which can effect the society as a whole and the youth generation in particular. Many youths, in this part of the country, are left with nothing to do, thereby increasing the chance to spread the diesese with their active sexual acts and drug use behaviour. This issue needs to be address in order to prevent further increase in HIV/Aids orphaned children rising in the district. Lets remember that every child has his/her own right to be brought up in the right direction by equally accessing all the basic health care facilities that are available. The philanthropic organisation such asBHYC would be most grateful to work with any agencies for the sake of these children. Our deepest heartfelt consideration and prayers goes to the all the AIDS orphaned children of the world and those of India in particular!
