This never ceases to surprise me

Human HCG is distilled and refined from the urine of pregnant women,

adn there is no shortage of pregnant women in the US. Also, this

hormone can be readily made via recombinant technology, and the cost of

doing so has surely come down from when this technology was first

introduced years ago.

I can't help but wonder if this is a matter of the big US based drug

companies just not wanting to dedicat resources to producing this drug

as HCG is not patentable and therefore not as profitable as other

drugs.
